A coffee scale includes a weighing mechanism and a display mechanism separated from the weighing mechanism; the weighing mechanism and the display mechanism are respectively provided with a first magnetic piece and a second magnetic piece with opposite magnetic pole; or one of the first magnetic piece and the second magnetic piece is a magnet and the other of the first magnetic piece and the second magnetic piece is made of iron material so that the weighing mechanism and the display mechanism can be attracted together in an action of magnetic force.

Barcode reader with off-platter detection

A barcode reader has a weigh platter and an off-platter detection assembly. The weigh platter is configured to measure a weight of an object and has a surface extending in a first transverse plane, a proximal edge, a first lateral edge extending non-parallel to the proximal edge, and a distal edge. The off-platter detection assembly includes a light emission assembly and a light detection assembly. The light emission assembly is configured to emit a collimated light beam along the first lateral edge, above the surface. The light diffusing barrier is positioned in a path of the collimated light beam and is configured to diffuse the light beam such that the light diffusing barrier appears to be illuminated when contacted by the light beam and appears not to be illuminated when not contacted by the light beam.

Fish kiosk for weighing and transmitting fish weight and method for its use

A fish weight capture system accurately captures and records the number and weight of each fish caught by fishermen through a geographic area. The system uses a series of dispersed kiosks such that each kiosk weighs each fish processed by the kiosk and captures and image and other information about the fish. The data about each fish is recorded within the kiosk and is transmitted to a central computer and stored within a database. The data received from each kiosk allow a regulatory agency to determine the number and weight of each fish type taken and set appropriate rules and regulations based on this data.

Balance Enclosure

The invention relates to a balance enclosure 1 for weighing pharmaceutically active or toxic substances in a laboratory, comprising a housing 10 which defines a working chamber 19. The housing 10 has a constantly open working opening 11 on the front face of the housing when the balance enclosure is used as intended and a transparent front pane 14 which is arranged above the working opening 11, can be pivoted from an open position into a closed position, and is connected to an upper part 12 of the housing 10 by means of a hinge 13. The balance enclosure also comprises a working plate 20 which delimits the working chamber 19 on the base side, and a light source is provided within or on the hinge 13, said light source completely illuminating the working plate 20.

DIGITAL SCALE OVERLOAD PROTECTION

A digital scale includes a lift apparatus configured to lift a top tray of the scale off weight sensors of the scale in order to prevent any potential damage and/or malfunction of the weight sensors due to excessive weight on the tray and/or due to a sudden drop of a heavy item onto the top tray. During a transaction at a terminal, an expected weight of a scanned item and/or a current weight of existing items on the tray is used to determine whether the tray is to be lifted off the sensors by the lift apparatus before the item is placed on the tray. Once the tray is lifted off the sensors and the scanned item is placed onto the top tray, the lift apparatus may slowly lower the tray back onto the weight sensors to enable a weight measurement of the item to be recorded.
