20170315021 · 2017-11-02 · ·

A method for monitoring an aircraft engine vane wheel (22), which includes: acquiring at least one time signal relative to moments when the vane wheel blades (23) pass in front of a sensor (21); determining a common flight phase of the aircraft; for each flight in a series of flights of the aircraft, correlating at least part of each time signal with a predetermined flight phase; and for each blade (23), each flight, and each predetermined flight phase, measuring the mean position (24C), the so-called “balance position”, of the top of the blade. The invention also relates to a device for implementing such a method. One advantage of the invention is providing a diagnosis of the blades using a small number of sensors and low computing power.

Measurement method for detecting damage to a turbine blade and turbine

A measurement method for early detection of damage to a blade of an impeller of a turbine is provided. During operation, in a rotational direction of the blade along a circumference which surrounds the impeller, at a plurality of points, in each case a plurality of magnetic fields are generated next to one another substantially in an oscillation direction of the blade, which magnetic fields are influenced by a tip of a turbine blade during transit. Positional values of the tip are detected by at the plurality of points. A positional profile of the turbine blade is then formed from the positional values and a frequency is determined from the positional profile. The frequency is compared with defined frequency values. An alarm event is recognized in case of a sudden and/or pronounced change in the frequency. In addition, a turbine is provided which is configured to carry out the method.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING ENGINE VIBRATION

Systems and methods of monitoring health of rotating engine components are provided. The systems and methods may receive a measurement from a speed sensor, detect the measurement from the speed sensor indicates a vibration of an engine, determine the vibration of the engine persisted for a predetermined duration, and signal the vibration of the engine is detected.

Methods are provided for: (i) measuring the position of the blade stagger angle axis for one or more blades of a row of blades attached to a rotor, (ii) measuring the blade tip stagger angle for one or more such blades, and (iii) measuring the blade tip axial displacement for one or more such blades. The methods use forward and rearward blade tip timing datasets for successive rotations of the blades from two axially spaced blade tip timing probes. The forward probe is forward of the rearward probe along the axial direction of the rotor. The blade tip timing datasets allow the times of arrival of the blades at the respective probes to be measured. The methods also use a once per revolution dataset for the successive rotations of the blades. The once per revolution dataset allows the angular velocity of the blades to be measured.

Method and system for monitoring rotating blade health

A method and system for establishing sets of blade frequency values for each rotating blade of a rotor assembly at two or more different points in time and determining an indication of blade health from the change in the blade frequency values is provided. Blade frequency values are determined by receiving measurements of vibratory responses from blade monitoring equipment (20) and processing via a processing device (30) vibration data as a system of rotating blades to extract a frequency of each blade. Sets of blade frequency values are compared to determine a change in the blade frequency values for each rotating blade to provide the indication of blade health.
