Variable power supply security light
A security light having optional connection to multiple power supplies. The lighting controller can sense the appropriate connected supply and automatically connect to three different power supplies which include house voltage connection through a typical junction box, a remote solar charging station, and on-board batteries that can be used as a third backup power supply. Additional implementations include power outage detection and backup illumination along with low voltage power supply from a mounting structure.
ON-CAR STRAY-LIGHT TESTING CART
Methods, systems, and apparatus for a stray-light testing apparatus. In one aspect, the apparatus includes an optical assembly including a spatially extended light source and one or more optical elements arranged to direct light from the spatially extended light source along an optical path, a moveable frame supporting the optical assembly including one or more adjustable alignment features for guiding positioning of the stray-light testing apparatus relative to an onboard camera on a vehicle, and a shrouding mechanism attached to the frame and positioned on the frame such that, when the stray-light testing apparatus is aligned relative to the onboard camera on the vehicle and the optical path of the optical assembly is within the field of view of the onboard camera, ambient light exposure for the onboard camera is below a threshold.
OPTICAL SYSTEM AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An optical system and a method of manufacturing an optical system are provided. The optical system includes a carrier, a light emitter, a light receiver, a block structure and an encapsulant. The light emitter is disposed on the carrier. The light receiver is disposed on the carrier and physically spaced apart from the light emitter. The light receiver has a light detecting area. The block structure is disposed on the carrier. The encapsulant is disposed on the carrier and covers the light emitter, the light receiver and the block structure. The encapsulant has a recess over the block structure.
Time of flight sensor with light baffle system and method
A time of flight sensor system having a time of flight sensor layer is disclosed. The system includes a covering window layer spaced apart from the time of flight sensor layer, with an exit window and an entrance window, an emitting element in the time of flight sensor layer that transmits an emission signal, a receiving element in the time of flight sensor layer that receives a reception signal, one or more opaque walls, and light baffles incorporated into the one or more opaque walls. The one or more opaque walls extend at least a portion of the distance from the time of flight sensor layer to the covering window layer. The one or more opaque walls reduce the reflection backscatter of emission signals and reception signals. The light baffles in the one or more opaque walls reduce backscatter of emission signals and reception signals.
Device for removing energy from a beam and a method(s) of use thereof
Embodiments of the present invention include a device for removing energy from a beam of electromagnetic radiation. Typically, the device can be operatively coupled to a turbidity measuring device to remove energy generated by the turbidity measuring device. The device can include a block of material having one of a plurality of different shapes coated in an energy absorbing material. Generally, the device can include an angled or rounded energy absorbing surface where the beam of electromagnetic radiation can be directed. The angled or rounded energy absorbing surface can be configured to deflect a portion of the beam of electromagnetic radiation to a second energy absorbing surface.
Variable power supply security light with connection priority
A security light having optional and prioritized connection to multiple power supplies. The lighting controller can sense the appropriate connected supply and automatically connect to three different power supplies which include house voltage connection through a typical junction box, a remote solar charging station, and on board batteries that can be used as a third backup power supply. Additional implementations include prioritizing the connection to the plurality of electrical supplies and selecting one of the electrical supplies based upon a stored connection priority list or associated circuitry as well as including associated lighting characteristics for the prioritized selection.
LED LUMINAIRE HAVING ENHANCED THERMAL MANAGEMENT
In one aspect, luminaires are described herein having sensor modules integrated therein. In one aspect, a luminaire described herein comprises a light emitting face including a LED assembly. A sensor module is integrated into the luminaire at a position at least partially overlapping the light emitting face. In another aspect, a luminaire described herein comprises a LED assembly and a driver assembly. A sensor module is integrated into the luminaire along or more convective air current pathways cooling the LED assembly or driver assembly.

The block structure is disposed on the carrier. The encapsulant is disposed on the carrier and covers the light emitter, the light receiver and the block structure. The encapsulant has a recess over the block structure.
ON-BOARD LIGHT SOURCE CALIBRATION
An example method includes recording dark images on an image sensor on-board an orbital vehicle during flight, which include a first image recorded before the orbital vehicle is over a predefined location on the Earth and a second image recorded after the orbital vehicle is over the predefined location; and recording third and fourth images on the image sensor during flight based on illumination from a light source that is on-board, with the third image being recorded before the orbital vehicle is over the predefined location and the fourth image being recorded after the orbital vehicle is over the predefined location. A fifth image is recorded on the image sensor during flight while the predefined location on the Earth is visible to the image sensor. The fifth image is based on light from a ground-based calibration system. The light source is calibrated during flight based on the five images.
ROTATIONALLY ADJUSTABLE OUTDOOR SECURITY LIGHT
The present disclosure sets forth an outdoor security light with the flexibility of being mounted to either a wall structure or to an eave or ceiling structure. The security light can be adjusted for each installation without the necessity of changing hardware elements of the security luminaire. Various embodiments allow for both a vertical installation wall mount, and a horizontal installation ceiling or eave mount, while maintaining appropriate outward orientation of the lamp heads while also allowing for appropriate positioning of a motion or other sensors.
