The photocell is centrally mounted within the dome lens in order to receive a maximum amount of light. The photocell is electronically connected to the processing unit. In order to transmit the light intensity data, the processing unit is electronically connected to the wireless data transfer module. The photocell, the processing unit, and the wireless data-transferring module are powered by the portable power source.

The present application discloses device and system embodiments that address mobile device integration considerations for various categories of UV sensors, including cameras, photodiodes, and chemical sensors. The UV sensors may use the functionalities of the existing in-built sensors in conventional mobile devices, and/or integrate additional components specific to UV sensing. By optimally positioning the sensors, UV sensing and other collateral functionalities (e.g., charging a photovoltaic cell integrated with the mobile device) can be realized in parallel.

In an embodiment, a wearable apparatus includes a first material and a second material. The second material includes a color changing material that changes color from a first color to a second color when exposed to a threshold level of UV light. The wearable apparatus is configured to be worn by a user in a place exposed to sunlight. The second color indicates that the user has been exposed to a threshold amount of UV light.

In one embodiment, the processor determines whether a digital pen that is configured to communicate with an information handling device is in a docked position. The processor receives a light measurement sensed by the digital pen and performs an adjustment to an output parameter of a display for the information handling device in response to receiving the light measurement. A method, system, and computer program product may perform the functions of the apparatus.
