In-Line Test System For A Holographic Optical Element
This application discloses an in-line system and method for measuring the optical performance of an HOE in motion during a roll-to-roll fabrication process.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING PARTICLES OF INTEREST USING SPECTRAL ANALYSIS
An example method includes receiving a first set of data that includes spectral metrics provided by a spectral acquisition apparatus that obtains the spectral metrics based on interactions of electromagnetic radiation with a sample. The first set of data is processed to obtain a second set of data that includes the spectral metrics. One or more trained models are applied to the spectral metrics or a set of values based on the spectral metrics to obtain a result. Based on the result, either a positive particle of interest detection or a negative particle of interest detection for the particle of interest for the sample is determined. A particle of interest detection notification that indicates either the positive particle of interest detection or the negative particle of interest detection for the particle of interest for the sample may be generated and provided.
Sample holder
There is disclosed a sample holder comprising: a base member; a holder member attached to the base member, the holder member having at least one flexible tab resiliently biased towards the base member; wherein one of the base member and the tab comprises a first formation provided on a face thereof so that a sample having a corresponding second formation can be located between the tab and the base member and retained by cooperation of the first and second formations.

An integrated cavity output spectroscopic (ICOS) device includes a cavity and a mirror positioned at an output end of the cavity. The ICOS device also includes a first collection lens positioned between a detector and the mirror at the output end of the cavity, and a second collection lens positioned between the first collection lens and the detector. The ICOS device further includes an optical component configured to reduce skew of an optical signal output from the cavity, where the optical component is positioned between the mirror and the first collection lens.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR QUANTITATIVE CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF LIQUID METALS AND ALLOYS
A modified method and apparatus for measuring elements in a liquid metal or alloy sample (23) with Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS). The apparatus comprises a pulsed excitation laser (1) and an instrument head (6) comprising a laser path channel (10), laser excitation optics (2), receiving optics for receiving emission from a plasma (3) created by the interaction of the laser (1) and the sample (23), an open-bottom chamber (5) extending upwardly from a flat bottom surface (7) of the instrument head (6), the laser path channel (10) extending to said chamber (5), and preferably a gas channel (12) for feeding gas to the open-bottom chamber (5). The laser (1) and laser excitation optics (2) are configured such that when the instrument head (6) is at a distance from a sample surface in the range of 1-10 mm, the focal point of the pulsed excitation laser is beneath the sample surface at a distance which is more than one Rayleigh length of the focused excitation laser beam.
SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC INSTRUMENT
A spectrophotometric instrument (1) for the quantitative measurement of an optical property of an analyte in a sample cell (4). The spectrophotometric instrument (1) comprises an instrument housing (2a, 2b) for a source of electromagnetic radiation and a detector; an optical pot (3) for accommodating the sample cell (4) having a flexible restraining cradle (6).
Spectral-characteristic acquisition apparatus and method of obtaining spectral characteristics
A spectral-characteristic acquisition apparatus and a method of obtaining spectral characteristics. The spectral-characteristic acquisition apparatus includes a conveyor including a first conveyance roller pair disposed in a conveyance direction in which an object is conveyed and a second conveyance roller pair disposed downstream from the first conveyance roller pair in the conveyance direction, a sensor to detect that the object has reached the second conveyance roller pair, circuitry to control the second conveyance roller pair to drive by a predetermined amount with a driving force greater than a driving force of the first conveyance roller pair upon detecting that the object has reached the second conveyance roller pair by the sensor and to stop driving, and a color data obtainer to obtain color data from the object at a position where the object stops moving. In the spectral-characteristic acquisition apparatus, the circuitry estimates a spectral characteristic of the object.
