SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CORRECTING OPTICAL PATH LENGTH MEASUREMENT ERRORS
A system includes a first optical unit that emits light to a measurement target object and receives first interference light incident from the measurement target object, a second optical unit that emits the light to a reference object configured to have a constant optical path length with respect to a temperature fluctuation and receives second interference light incident from the reference object, a spectroscope connected to the first optical unit and the second optical unit and receives the first interference light and the second interference light to be incident, and a control unit connected to the spectroscope, and the control unit calculates a fluctuation rate of a measurement optical path length with respect to a reference optical path length under a predetermined temperature environment on the basis of the optical path length of the reference object calculated on the basis of the second interference light incident on the spectroscope under the predetermined temperature environment, and the reference optical path length of the reference object acquired in advance, and corrects, on the basis of the fluctuation rate, the optical path length of the measurement target object calculated on the basis of the first interference light incident on the spectroscope under the predetermined temperature environment.
Broad range gas illumination and imaging
Systems and methods disclosed herein provide for detecting gas by: illuminating, with a controllable illuminator system, a scene with light including radiation within the infrared (IR) wavelength range; controlling the illuminator system to emit light at a first wavelength corresponding to a first absorption level of a gas and at a second wavelength corresponding to a second absorption level of a gas, such that an equal amount of radiant energy over a time period is emitted onto the scene for each of said first and second wavelengths; and capturing a first IR image of the scene being illuminated with light at said first wavelength and a second IR image of the scene illuminated with light at said second wavelength, and comparing said first and second IR images to determine whether a characteristic for at least one specific gas is represented in said first and/or second IR images.
GAS SENSING
In an embodiment, an apparatus (100) is described. The apparatus comprises an infrared, IR, generating system (102). The IR generating system comprises a first IR source (104) configured to produce IR radiation for forming a first IR beam (106) in a first spectral band. The IR generating system further comprises a second IR source (108) configured to produce IR radiation for forming a second IR beam (110) in a second spectral band. The apparatus further comprises a beam manipulation system (112) configured to combine a beam path of the first and second IR beams and direct the first and second IR beams along the beam path through a gas sample region (114). The apparatus further comprises an IR detection system (116) configured to detect an intensity of the first and second IR beams after passage through the gas sample region. The IR detection system is configured to produce a signal (118) from which an indication of a concentration of a target gas in the gas sample region can be derived.
SAMPLING MODULE
A sampling module for providing an illumination beam onto an object and collecting a measurement beam reflected thereby to at least one measurement device is provided. The sampling module includes at least one illumination module, a light collecting element, and at least one light receiving module. The illumination module provides the illumination beam. The light collecting element has a first opening and an internal space. The illumination module is disposed in the first opening. The illumination beam is transmitted to the object in the internal space. The light receiving module is connected to the light collecting element and includes a case and a lens set. A distance between the sampling module and the object is greater than 0 mm. The measurement beam is transmitted by the object through the lens set to be incident onto the measurement device.
COMPACT SPECTRAL ANALYZER
Aspects relate to a spectral analyzer that can be used for biological sample detection. The spectral analyzer includes an optical window configured to receive a sample and a spectral sensor including a chassis having various component assembled thereon. Examples of components may include a light source, a light modulator, illumination and collection optical elements, a detector, and a processor. The spectral analyzer is configured to obtain spectral data representative of a spectrum of the sample using, for example, an artificial intelligence (AI) engine. The spectral analyzer further includes a thermal separator positioned between the light modulator and the light source.
Apparatus and method for processing spectrum according to change in temperature of object
Provided is a spectrum processing apparatus for removing noise, caused by a change in temperature, from a spectrum. The spectrum processing apparatus includes: a temperature modulator configured to perform modulation of a temperature of an object; a spectrometer configured to obtain a first spectrum based on the temperature of the object that is changed by the modulation; and a spectrum processor configured to extract a temperature change vector based on the first spectrum, and to correct a second spectrum based on the extracted temperature change vector.
LASER OUTPUT LIMITING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a device and a method for limiting the output of a laser, wherein a reflecting device arranged in the optical path of a laser beam comprises a switching layer which comprises or consists of a material exhibiting a metal-insulator transition and a reflecting layer which is positioned downstream of the switching layer in the optical path of the laser beam, wherein the reflecting device is configured such that an output of the laser beam when it is incident upon the reflecting device which exceeds a predefined threshold causes a change in the refractive index of the material in the switching layer, and the output of the laser beam reflected by the reflecting device is thus reduced as compared to the output of the laser beam when it is incident upon the reflecting device due to reduced reflection by the reflecting device.
Vehicular camera with PCB focus tuning
A camera for a vehicular vision system includes a circuit board having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The circuit board has a first coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). An imager is disposed at the first side of the circuit board, and a lens assembly is optically aligned with the imager. A bend-countering element is disposed at the first side or the second side of the circuit board. The bend-countering element has a second CTE that is different from the first CTE of the circuit board. The bend-countering element counters temperature-induced bending of the circuit board. With the camera disposed at the vehicle, temperature-induced bending of the bend-countering element is in an opposite direction from temperature-induced bending of the circuit board.
Spectrometer device and method for producing a spectrometer device
A spectrometer device includes a Fabry-Perot interferometer unit, which comprises a first carrier substrate, wherein the first carrier substrate is arranged on a lower side of the Fabry-Perot interferometer unit and includes an optical aperture. The spectrometer includes at least one of a first substrate, which is arranged on an upper side of the Fabry-Perot interferometer unit, which faces away from the lower side, and a second substrate with the first carrier substrate arranged with the lower side on the second substrate. The spectrometer further includes a photodetector device arranged on or in the at least one of the second substrate and the first substrate. A first electrical connection region of the photodetector device and a second electrical connection region of the Fabry-Perot interferometer unit are electrically contacted from the same direction.
HANDHELD OPTICAL SPECTROSCOPY SCANNER
Aspects relate to a handheld spectroscopy scanner including an optical window configured to receive a sample and a housing having the optical window thereon. The housing further includes therein a light source and a spectral sensor including a light modulator and a detector. The scanner housing further includes a processor configured to receive a spectrum of the sample from the spectral sensor based on interaction of light produced by the light source with the sample on the optical window. The processor is further configured to produce spectral data based on the sample spectrum for input to an artificial intelligence engine to produce a result based on the spectral data. In addition, the scanner housing may include a flange holding the light source and a heat sink configured to dissipate the internal heat generated. The housing further includes a cavity forming a handle for easy operation of the handheld spectroscopy scanner.
