METAMERIC STABILIZATION VIA CUSTOM VIEWER COLOR MATCHING FUNCTION

Two corresponding color patches are displayed on two image displays until adjusted by a viewer to match visually to a common color. Two sets of code values rendered on the two corresponding color patches on the two image displays are identified. Two sets of tristimulus values for the viewer are determined based on the two sets of code values rendered on the two corresponding color patches on the two image displays. The viewer's color matching function are generated based on the two sets of tristimulus values. The viewer's CMF is used in image rendering operations on a target image display.

Dental 3D scanner with angular-based shade matching

A method for color shade matching obtains a 3D tooth surface representation using an intraoral scanner wherein the 3D tooth surface representation comprises surface data and a spatially resolved angular distribution of color vectors, wherein the spatially resolved angular distribution of color vectors associates one or more point positions from the surface data to the corresponding angular distribution of color vectors. The method identifies one or more shade values, where each shade value is associated with one angular distribution of color vectors from the spatially resolved angular distribution of color vectors, by comparing the angular distribution of color vectors to a set of reference angular distributions of color vectors, wherein each reference angular distribution in the set is associated with a corresponding shade value. The method displays, stores, or transmits the surface data with an indication of the one or more shade values.

Described herein are various technologies pertaining to a sensor system for an autonomous vehicle (AV) that includes a single photon accelerated diode (SPAD) array. The SPAD array includes several pixels. A filter layer is arranged proximate the several pixels, where the filter layer includes color filter portions and unfiltered portions that are respectively aligned with first pixels of the SPAD array and second pixels of the SPAD array. A computing system determines both range to an object and information pertaining to color of the object based upon values read out from the pixels of the SPAD array.

Systems and methods for assisting with color selection

Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A user device displays room types on a display, receives a room type selection indicating a particular room type, displays types of feelings, and receives a type of feeling selection indicating a particular type of feeling. The user device accesses a lookup table that associates the room types and types of feelings with paint colors such that each possible combination of room type and type of feeling is associated with a subset of paint colors. The user device determines the associated subset of paint colors in the lookup table for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling and displays the associated subset of paint colors as recommended paint colors for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling on the display of the user device.

Disclosed herein is a method and a device that can measure an unknown target coating; can search, based on the measured data of the target coating, a database for one or more best matching coating formulas, i.e. one or more preliminary matching formulas, within the database; and that can refine the search using an image similarity metric between images of the one or more best matching coating formulas on the one side and images of the target coating on the other side, using deep learning techniques.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TINTING USING LOW-RESOLUTION SPECTROPHOTOMETER

A custom-tint paint production system that includes a color sensing device such as a low-resolution spectrophotometer to measure color of a preexisting surface color, a color data translation engine to convert the measured values to spectral curve values, and a tint formulation engine to determine a custom tint formulation based upon the spectral curve values, which is usable by a tinter to tint a base coating composition by adding one or more colorants in amounts based on color measurements from the color sensing device.

COLOR CHANNEL CORRELATION DETECTION
20230206503 · 2023-06-29 ·

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for performing color channel correlation detection are disclosed. A compression engine performs a color channel transform on an original set of pixel data to generate a channel transformed set of pixel data. An analysis unit determines whether to compress the channel transformed set of pixel data or the original set of pixel data based on performing a comparison of the two sets of pixel data. In one scenario, the channel transformed set of pixel data is generated by calculating the difference between a first pixel component and a second pixel component for each pixel of the set of pixel data. The difference is then compared to the original first pixel component for each pixel. If the difference is less than or equal to the original for a threshold number of pixels, then the analysis unit decides to apply the color channel transform prior to compression.

Cradle for creating a colorcloud

A cradle can be used to capture video of an object, such as hair. That video can then be used to extract and visualize color information relating to that material using a colorcloud. The colorcloud contains all the colors that were present in one or more frames of the video. The cradle comprises a video recording device that is able to see the material through a window on the cradle. A smartphone can be used with the cradle to act as the video recording device, as well as provide lighting.
