This information processing apparatus includes: a search image acquisition unit that acquires enlarged images at focal positions different from each other; a first feature amount calculation unit that obtains, for each of the multiple captured enlarged images, a first feature amount based on a direct current component and a dynamic range of an alternating current component of pixel values for each of blocks forming each of the enlarged images; and an in-focus position determination unit that determines an in-focus position of each enlarged image based on the first feature amount.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ASCERTAINING A HUE
The invention relates to a system and a method for ascertaining a color recipe which produces a color product with a specified hue after an application onto a specified substrate using a specified application method. The method has the steps of: a) providing a database with a plurality of data sets, b) specifying a target application method, a target substrate, and a desired target hue by means of a user, c) searching the database using a computer program, and d) when at least one suitable database has been found in step c), displaying the information stored in the at least one data set, said information relating to the color recipe, wherein at least one of the data sets also comprises information on at least one reference hue, a reference application method, and a reference substrate. The reference hue is produced when the color recipe to which information contained in the data set relates is applied onto the reference substrate using the reference application method, and the reference application method differs from the application method to which the information contained in the data set relates and/or the reference substrate differs from the substrate to which information contained in the data set relates.
System for colorimetry and a transformation from a non-uniform color space to a substantially uniform color space
Disclosed is a method for organizing a substantially uniform system of colorimetry comprising the steps of (i) taking a pseudoinverse of a matrix containing intensity values for an existing non-uniform color-matching functions; (ii) optionally normalizing the pseudoinverse matrix from step (i); (iii) empirically determining an opponency transformation matrix based on a plurality of substantially uniformly spaced color standards; (iv) transforming the matrix from step (ii) to a color opponency color coordinate utilizing the opponency transformation matrix from step (iii) to obtain a Red-Green, Yellow-Blue and Lightness (RG, YB and LT) color matching functions; and (v) transforming the RG, YB and LT color matching functions from step (iv) non-linearly to color matching functions that produce colors recognizable as being uniform by human vision; wherein after step (v) the existing non-uniform color matching functions are transformed into substantially uniform color matching functions.
COORDINATE VALUES IN A COLOR SPACE
Certain examples described herein relate to color spaces. In some cases, data representing a set of color values is obtained. Each color value has, for each of first, second and third axes defining a three-dimensional color space, a respective coordinate value. In some cases, for each of the set of color values, the coordinate value for the first and/or second axis is transformed dependent on the coordinate value for the third axis, to generate data representing a transformed set of color values. A set of output color values in an output color space is derived using the generated data. Output data associating the set of output color values in the output color space with a set of further color values in a further color space is generated.
Automotive color matching system and method
The present invention is directed to an automotive color matching system and method that may be implemented on a smartphone or other computing device. The method comprises receiving at least one digital image of a vehicle captured by a camera in communication with a processor of the computing device; analyzing the digital image of the vehicle to determine vehicle information (e.g., the make, model, and/or model year of the vehicle); and determining color information (e.g., a color formula for each of the colors associated with the vehicle information). A final paint color selected from the colors in the color information may be transmitted to a dispenser or scale for application of paint to the vehicle. Various embodiments of the automotive color matching system and method are disclosed.
Device and Method for Color Identification Using Multiple 2D Material Filters
The present technology provides devices and methods to determine the spectrum or other spectral characteristic, such as color, of a beam of light or other electromagnetic radiation. The beam of light or other electromagnetic radiation is modified without dispersion by broadband transmissive windows and then transmitted onto a detector. Signals from the detector are measured from a training set of radiation having known spectra and used to train the device, after which the device can estimate the spectrum or color of an unknown light or other electromagnetic radiation with exceptionally high accuracy.
Compensate surface gloss in spectrum recovery
In accordance with one or more implementations of the apparatus, system and methods described, a sample measurement device is provided that is configured to measure the color of a sample. The sample measurement device includes at least one light source configured to illuminate the sample; at least one light sensor configured to output a signal in response to light emitted by light source and reflected off the sample being received by at least a portion of the light sensor; and a processor configured to receive the signal and calculate a color value for the sample, the processor configured to calculate the color value by at least adjusting the signal using a calibration factor.
Image forming apparatus, image forming system, and image forming method for color difference calculation
An image forming apparatus includes circuitry. The circuitry extracts a colorimetric area from an image formation area based on designation according to an operation by a user, the image formation area in which an image as a print target is to be formed. The circuitry calculates a color difference between a first page and a second page subsequent to the first page based on a colorimetric value in the extracted colorimetric area and to determine whether to continue printing according to the calculated color difference.
