Thermal imaging in a high temperature furnace

An apparatus and method for thermal imaging of an interior space of a high temperature furnace through an opening in a wall of the furnace. An outer housing houses at least a portion of a rigid borescope. The outer housing has a port for aspirating ambient air through the outer housing to cool the rigid borescope and passing the air through a hole at the end of the outer housing and into the furnace. A camera is operatively connected to a rigid borescope but is located such that it is isolated from the air passing through the outer housing.

Handheld LIBS spectrometer

A handheld LIBS spectrometer system features an optics stage moveable with respect to a housing and including a laser focusing lens. A laser source is mounted in the housing for directing a laser beam to a sample via the laser focusing lens. A detection fiber is mounted in the housing and is fixed relative thereto. A first mirror is fixed relative to the housing and includes an aperture for the laser beam. This mirror is oriented to re-direct plasma radiation for delivery to the detection fiber. A controller subsystem is responsive to the output of a spectrometer subsystem and is configured to control the laser source and the optics stage.

SPHERICAL-MOTION AVERAGE RADIANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR

A mean radiant temperature sensor is used to measure radiant heat exchange to determine comfort. Disclosed herein are a spherical-motion average radiant temperature sensor (SMART Sensor) device or system, and an associated method, for taking an average overall global reading while also being able to record weighting for different directions easily in spherical coordinates.

Thermal Profile Monitoring Wafer And Methods Of Monitoring Temperature

Thermal monitors comprising a substrate with at least one camera position on a bottom surface thereof, a wireless communication controller and a battery. The camera has a field of view sufficient to produce an image of at least a portion of a wafer support, the image representative of the temperature within the field of view. Methods of using the thermal monitors are also described.

Infrared detector

Methods, systems, and apparatus, for an infrared detector are provided. In one aspect, an infrared detector is provided that includes a pyroelectric sensor; a controller for receiving a trigger signal outputted by the pyroelectric sensor; a thermopile sensor, wherein the controller starts the thermopile sensor after receiving the trigger signal output by the pyroelectric sensor; and an alarm, wherein the controller controls the alarm to generate an alarm signal in response to a determination that a difference between a current temperature and a background temperature detected by the thermopile sensor is larger than a threshold value and a determination that the areas of the thermopile sensor activated correspond to a human being.

Mounting system and method for night vision tubes

A mounting system for night vision tubes includes a multi-part sleeve that opens in the manner of a clamshell to receive the tube. The sleeve includes a longitudinal seam or a partial longitudinal seam and opens around compliant hinge regions. The night vision tube engages a ramp section of the sleeve, urging the sleeve to open and then abuts against a front shoulder, causing the sleeve to clamp shut around the night vision tube. The tube is constrained between the front shoulder and a retaining shoulder. An indexing pin engages the night vision tube and the sleeve to maintain mutual rotational alignment. The sleeve and the tube are inserted into a housing of a night vision system.
