Improved techniques for thermal imaging and gas detection are provided. In one example, a system includes a first set of filters configured to pass first filtered infrared radiation comprising a first range of thermal wavelengths associated with a background portion of a scene. The system also includes a second set of filters configured to pass second filtered infrared radiation comprising a second range of thermal wavelengths associated with a gas present in the scene. The first and second ranges are independent of each other. The system also includes a sensor array comprising adjacent infrared sensors configured to separately receive the first and second filtered infrared radiation to capture first and second thermal images respectively corresponding to the background portion and the gas. Additional systems and methods are also provided.

Infrared thermal monitoring system for industrial application

A thermal monitoring system includes thermal monitoring devices that generate sensor data including thermal images depicting monitored elements (e.g. of an electrical switchgear system). The sensor data for all monitoring devices installed at a local deployment is collected by a gateway device, and relevant data from multiple local deployments is further aggregated by a cloud management system for further analysis. New event triggering rules determining how the thermal monitoring devices filter or record the sensor data are generated based on the aggregated data during a continuous learning process. The system detects patterns in the sensor data for the monitoring devices and/or local deployments as a whole and tracks deviations from these patterns, improving the accuracy of the event detection over time.

NONCONTACT THERMOMETER

A thermometer includes one or more temperature sensors mounted on a housing. The one or more temperature sensors determine a temperature of at least one measurement site without contact. The non-contact thermometer displays an indicator to assist alignment of the one or more temperature sensors with the at least one measurement site, receives at least one measurement reading from the at least one measurement site, determines a temperature based on the at least one measurement reading, and displays the temperature on a display unit.

Zero Power Micromechanical Switch-Based Sensing and Monitoring System

Zero-power system for remote monitoring of heat sources is provided. The systems detect failure indicators of remote equipment including power substations, oil rigs, large inaccessible machinery in a factory, and communications equipment. The systems also can be used to detect the presence of people in buildings or in other locations, so as to improve HVAC utilization in large buildings. When the zero-power monitoring systems detect heat sources, such as the presence of people, failure indicators, or a targeted environmental signal, a circuit is closed using the energy of the detected radiation, and activating an RFID tag, a radio transmitter, or an alarm. The monitoring systems can remain deployed and active for many years without the need for battery replacement.
