A spring clip upright connection for rack shelving includes one upright with tabs and square cutouts and another upright with slots with metal spring clips. As the tabs of one upright are inserted into the slots of the other upright, the uprights are aligned and the spring metal clips open up. When the tabs are fully inserted, the clips latch into the cutouts of the slots of the other upright thereby engaging the upright sections together. This latching prevents one upright from being removed from the other upright while the slots and tabs maintain the appropriate alignment of the uprights.

Each recessed groove includes a groove-side abutting portion that extends linearly in a direction orthogonal to the left-right direction. An outer edge of the attachment plate includes a plate-side abutting portion that is parallel with the groove-side abutting portion. The platform is fixed to the pair of supporting pillars such that the plate-side abutting portion abuts against the groove-side abutting portion.

The modular trays receive, store, sort, and organize files, documents, and mail. The modular trays comprise a panel, a peripheral region, and at least one protrusion extending from the periphery. The protrusion extends from the sides of the panel and are configured to couple with the concave humps that form in the support bars of the lateral frames. The modular trays are arranged into three tiers and expanded to additional tiers of trays through constructive arrangement with the lateral frames. The lateral frames comprise a pair of legs, a top bar forming a top convex hump, and a bottom bar forming a bottom convex hump. The top and bottom convex humps from multiple assemblies can be stacked to further expand the assembly.

A front vertical rail extends along an opposite and parallel edge of each side panel. Each adjustable shelf includes a pair of shelf sides extending parallel to and adjacent the side panels. A flange extends outwardly from each of the shelf sides with a bolt attaching the flange to a front vertical rail and applying a rearward biasing force to the adjustable shelf. A rear tab extends rearwardly from each of the shelf sides and is angled laterally inwardly to engage a rear aperture in a wedging force-fit in response to the rearward biasing force.

A sleeve for a shelving unit has two halves joined together to form two support tabs extending outward from opposing sides of the sleeve as the sleeve clamps around a post having grooves into which a rib on the sleeve fits to hold the parts relative to the post. The support tabs have a retaining flange offset from the sleeve. A first collar part fastened to a shelf fits over half the sleeve and fits into that offset so that a slot in the first collar part fits over one of the support tabs to clamp them to the post and support the first collar part and shelf. The retaining flange keeps the collar part from moving off the support tab. A second collar part with a second slot may fit over the other support tabs to support a second shelf or to further clamp the sleeve to the post.
