Systems and methods for correcting lag between sensor temperature and ambient gas temperature
Various embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for accurately determining temperatures in harsh environments such as, for example, in a steam autoclave chamber during a sterilization cycle. In certain embodiments, temperature data accuracy is increased by utilizing an IC-based temperature logging device that monitors and compensates for inherent thermal delays that would otherwise cause a discrepancy between temperature as measured by a temperature sensor and the actual ambient gas temperature. By properly correcting for the thermal delay, the data accuracy of the measured gas temperature is thus greatly enhanced.

A method for handling foodstuffs according to temperature exposure within an automated foodstuff assembly apparatus includes receiving, at a topping module, a hopper carrying topping samples. The topping samples are all the same type of topping. The method includes monitoring temperatures corresponding to the topping samples. Monitoring includes making first temperature measurements corresponding to one of the topping samples and making second temperature measurements corresponding to another one of the topping samples. The method includes maintaining a set of timers associated with the first temperature measurements and the second temperature measurements. The method includes, in response to at least one timer in the set of timers expiring, selectively preventing dispensation of a topping sample of the topping samples.

A bathythermograph buoy and an associated method of operation are provided to measure temperature and/or optionally other parameter(s) within an ocean or another body of water. A bathythermograph buoy includes a housing and one or more sensors carried by the housing and configured to repeatedly measure one or more respective parameters as the bathythermograph buoy descends. The bathythermograph buoy of one example also includes a memory carried by the housing and configured to store representations of the one or more respective parameters measured by the one or more sensors. The bathythermograph buoy further includes a buoyancy modification device configured to increase buoyancy of the bathythermograph buoy to permit the bathythermograph buoy to ascend.
SYSTEM AND METHODOLOGY FOR MONITORING IN AN INJECTION WELL
A technique facilitates monitoring of parameters related to a downhole operation, e.g. a water injection operation. A completion string may be deployed in a borehole with at least one water injection mandrel combined with a side pocket. A sensor tool is constructed for conveyance down through the completion string and into sealing engagement with the interior surface of the side pocket. The sensor tool comprises at least one sensor for sensing a desired parameter or parameters, e.g. pressure and/or temperature. Additionally, the sensor tool comprises a nose which is positioned to mechanically open a check valve coupled to the side pocket so as to enable monitoring of the desired parameter or parameters via the at least one sensor.

The temperature threshold determining device includes a temperature data storage unit, a representative temperature value determining unit, and a temperature threshold determining unit. The temperature data storage unit stores temperature data that indicates the temperature of a target apparatus during past operation. The representative temperature value determining unit determines a representative temperature value of the target apparatus during the past operation, which is derived using the temperature data stored in the temperature data storage unit. The temperature threshold determining unit determines at least one temperature threshold by using the representative temperature value during the past operation and a reference temperature value that is preset and configured to prevent the temperature abnormality.

The thermostats may be communicatively coupled to a printer used for inventory labeling and date information. The thermostats may also include a variety of alarms that may be triggered. The method and system may provide a label that shows that any food products stored in the refrigeration and freezer units was maintained at a predetermined or desired temperature range during the storage period. The label can thus provide an indicator of freshness where one or more indicia may be printed thereon showing that the food product was properly stored, a temperature range during the storage period, duration of the storage period, expected shelf life of the food product, and the like.
