System and method for smart material monitoring
A system for monitoring the characteristics of a material by measuring electrical properties of a material uses a material monitoring device and a cloud database that relates electrical properties of a material to characteristics of that material. The aging and fermentation processes of wine and other alcohols can be monitored. The status and decomposition of foodstuffs can be monitored. The progress of chemical reactions in a vessel can be monitored. Water quality of water from a water conduit can be monitored. These characteristics can be indicated on a product monitoring device or can be communicated to an external computing device.

The device further includes an electronic storage component for storing data captured by the sensor, and an input/output component configured for providing the data captured by the sensor to an electronic device by a local connection. The system also includes a downloading component for providing data relating to at least one parameter from the electronic device to the cloud by the internet. The system further includes a management and processing component for data coming from the at least one recording device, wherein the data management and processing component is configured for storing data and providing data to users by a remote connection for the management thereof according to parameters configured for each user.
Method and apparatus to dynamically control how often temperature readings are received
A control circuit dynamically controls how often temperature readings are received from a communication device such as an RFID tag having an integral temperature sensor. The communication device can be disposed to monitor an internal temperature of, for example, a delivery container. By one approach the control circuit dynamically controls how often the temperature readings are received as a function, at least in part, of local conditions for the delivery container. By one approach the aforementioned local conditions pertain to the contents of the delivery container. Examples in these regards include a temperature-based state of the contents, a volume-based metric of the contents, and mass-based metrics of the contents. By another approach, in lieu of the foregoing or in combination therewith, the aforementioned local conditions can pertain to ambient conditions as regards the delivery container.
Temperature-based tamper detection
A temperature sensing device for a temperature-based tamper detection system includes an integrated circuit (IC) and a logic circuit. The logic circuit sends an enable signal to the IC, causing it to measure the device temperature, and initiates a security timer. In response to not receiving the device temperature before the security timer expires, the logic circuit outputs a tamper event signal and an error code. The logic circuit can disable the enable signal in response to not receiving the device temperature before the timer expires. In some implementations, the logic circuit is a first logic circuit, and the IC includes an analog integrated circuit (AIC) and a second logic circuit. The second logic circuit receives the enable signal from the first logic circuit, causes the AIC to measure the device temperature, and outputs a ready signal and the device temperature to the first logic circuit.

Time-temperature exposure indicator with delayed threshold response
Environmental indicators for monitoring a predetermined environmental exposure, for example, an historical heat exposure such as a cumulative ambient heat exposure and/or a peak ambient heat exposure, may include an environmental indicator material. The environmental indicator may be configured to attach to a host product for monitoring the predetermined environmental exposure of the host product.
TEMPERATURE EXCEPTION TRACKING IN A TEMPERATURE LOG FOR A MEMORY SYSTEM
Methods, systems, and devices for temperature exception tracking in a temperature log for a memory system are described. The memory system may store the temperature log separate from data to which the temperature information corresponds. For example, a memory device may store data in a relatively higher-level cell and the corresponding temperature information in a relatively lower-level cell. To perform a write operation, the memory system may determine a current temperature at which the data is being written or was written to a partition of a memory device and may indicate in the temperature log if the current temperature is entering a temperature range that is outside a threshold temperature (e.g., a nominal temperature). To perform a read operation, the memory system may determine if the data to read was written to the memory device outside the threshold temperature to determine whether to perform temperature compensation for the read operation.
