Electromechanical actuator with integrated force sensor
An electromechanical cylinder contains a casing, an actuating rod mounted so as to be able to move longitudinally relative to the casing, an electric motor provided with a rotating rotor shaft, a mechanism for transforming a rotational movement of the rotor shaft of the electric motor into a linear translational movement of the actuating rod, and at least one bearing for guiding the rotor shaft of the electric motor in rotation relative to the casing and for supporting the rotor shaft. The cylinder further contains a sleeve that is fastened to the casing and inside which is mounted the bearing, and at least one load sensor that is mounted on the sleeve while being offset axially relative to the bearing.
Load sensing pin box
A pin box assembly having a column connected to a skid plate with an upper and lower surface. A kingpin is affixed to and extends from the skid plate. The skid plate is restrained from movement with respect to the column, and the column is for being connected to a towable RV. A strain gauge may be mounted to an upper surface of the skid plate. As an alternative to mounting the strain gauge to the skid plate, the strain gauge may be mounted to the column of the pin box. The strain gauges in the aforementioned locations measure strain as the weight of a towable RV is placed upon a fifth wheel hitch.
SENSORS WITH DEFORMABLE CONDUCTORS AND SELECTIVE DEFORMATION
A sensor may include a bladder, and a deformable conductor disposed on the bladder such that deformation of the bladder causes deformation of the deformable conductor, wherein the bladder is constrained so as to enhance the deformation of the conductor in response to the deformation of the bladder. A method may include applying a stimulus to a bladder having a deformable conductor attached thereto, detecting a change in an electrical characteristic associated with the deformable conductor in response to the stimulus, and selectively constraining the bladder to amplify the change in electrical characteristic in response to the stimulus.

Load Sensor System with Improved Assembly Connection
A load sensor having a centrally disposed aperture element through which a fastening element of a vehicle air suspension assembly passes to affix the load sensor between the vehicle air suspension assembly and the vehicle suspension, wherein the load sensor has a force measurement sensor disposed proximate an elongate slot to generate a load signal which varies based on an amount of strain in the load sensor, wherein the load signal received by a load calculator allows calculation of the load exerted from the vehicle frame to the vehicle suspension.
Resistive pressure sensor with improved structure design
A transparent resistive pressure sensor and method of making the same are disclosed. The transparent resistive pressure sensor may include a flexible pressure substrate, a pressure electrode layer, an elastic dielectric spacer with microstructure, a transparent pressure-sensitive composite layer composed of a transparent polymer dielectric matrix and a conductive one-dimensional nanomaterial oriented substantially in a thickness direction of the transparent pressure-sensitive composite layer, a support electrode layer, and a support substrate, where the elastic dielectric spacer with microstructure may include a transparent elastic dielectric film and a plurality of size-varied straight holes penetrating through the transparent elastic dielectric film in a thickness direction of the transparent elastic dielectric film.

A SENSOR FOR MONITORING FLOTATION RECOVERY
An apparatus (20) for monitoring flotation performance apparatus comprises an arm (21) having a paddle (22) attached at one end. The apparatus (20) forms a sensor to monitor real-time flotation performance by measuring the drag exerted by the overflowing froth onto a cantilever beam arm. The strain exerted on the beam or arm can be directly correlated to the efficiency of the froth flotation process. Methods for monitoring and controlling a froth flotation process and a method to determine ash content in coal undergoing flotation are also described
