A push nut holds quartz crystal bowls on the retaining rod. An oversized poker, available in brass, titanium, or glass, holds the tar trap in place and removes the tar trap for cleaning. The poker may be fitted with an easy-pull grip nut or a removal tool to remove the retaining rod and quartz crystal bowls from the storage canister.

In addition, the grommet can have an external annular recess located between the tube end and the rod end.
