Sensor systems and methods for detecting conveyor tension in a mining system
11511943 · 2022-11-29 · ·

A conveyor system that includes a sprocket, a conveyor element, a sensor, a tensioning system, and an electronic processor. The conveyor element is coupled to the sprocket to move around the sprocket. The sensor is positioned adjacent to the sprocket and configured to generate an output signal indicative of a detection of the conveyor element. The electronic processor is coupled to the sensor and to the tensioning system. The electronic processor is configured to receive the output signal from the sensor, estimate a trajectory of the conveyor element based on the output signal, determine a value for slack distance based on the estimated trajectory of the conveyor element, and control the tensioning system based on the value for slack distance.

String instrument emulating and string tension measuring apparatus and method of using same

An apparatus for emulating a variety of string instruments with a variety of configurations in order to measure the resulting, actual tension of a string on that instrument. The tension may be measured in real-time.

Yarn Tension and Breakage Sensor System
20220282416 · 2022-09-08 ·

A yarn monitoring system for textile machines uses sensors to indicate yarn over-tensioning and breakage. The sensors within eyelets monitor the passage of the yarn and send raw signals to the controller. The eyelets, each with a sensor, are within a body containing a circuit board which is in constant communication with the sensors and software contained within a controller. The controller is in constant communication with the textile machine. The software contains an acceptable operational zone for raw signal data and control limits establishing the lowest raw signal data reading permitted for the yarn. The user establishes set points for the control limits, and reaching these set points is an indication over-tension or yarn breakage. To prevent unnecessary shut down of the machine, the software averages the raw signal data and, when the raw signal average remains out of the established set points, initiates communication to the textile machine.

Resistance-band exercise monitoring device and associated methods
11406870 · 2022-08-09 ·

A resistance-band exercise monitoring device includes a first force sensor that senses a first force applied to a first resistance band, a second force sensor that senses a second force applied to a second resistance band, a single electronics module with a single transceiver for wirelessly communicating with a remote device, and a flexible strap physically coupling with the first and second resistance bands. The flexible strap has conductive pathways electrically coupling the force sensors to the single electronics module. The single electronics module communicates values indicative of the first and second forces to the remote device via the single transceiver. The flexible strap does not stretch and protects the conductive pathways from excessive stress. The resistance-band exercise monitoring device may be configured in multiple ways to perform a wide variety of exercises.

TENSIONING DEVICE AND DRIVEN MEMBER THEREOF

A tensioning device includes a housing, a drive member, an inner sleeve and a driven member. The housing includes a first attachment feature. The driven member includes a second attachment feature. The inner sleeve is disposed at least partially in the housing and is rotatably coupled with the housing. The drive member is rotatably coupled with the housing and is operably coupled with the inner sleeve such that rotation of the drive member facilitates rotation of the inner sleeve. The driven member is movable with respect to the guide member between a retracted position and an extended position along a centerline.

Waist Measuring Belt

In various example embodiments, devices, systems, and methods for a waist measuring belt are provided. An example waist measuring belt is made up of a belt buckle frame with attachments for a belt strap. The belt further includes a position measuring module coupled to the belt buckle frame that measures an attachment position of a second end of the belt strap to the belt buckle frame. The belt also includes a tension measuring module coupled to the belt buckle frame that measures a tension through the belt buckle frame and the belt strap. A memory and a wireless communication module attached to the belt may be used to store measurements and communicate with a mobile device or server. In various embodiments, estimated user waist sizes over time using measured values and belt-specific data may be used to estimate a user's waist size and generate a waist size history.
