A settling basin of a wastewater treatment system includes a collector chain including chain links having a plurality of side bars, stepped connecting pins configured to join the plurality of side bars and including a first end including a head portion having a cross-sectional area larger than portions of the plurality of side bars through which the stepped connecting pin extends, end caps configured to receive second ends of the stepped connecting pins, and apertures defined in the end caps and second ends of the stepped connecting pins configured to receive a retaining element that holds the end caps in position on the second ends of the stepped connecting pins.
Resistance-band exercise monitoring device and associated methods
A resistance-band exercise monitoring device includes a first force sensor that senses a first force applied to a first resistance band, a second force sensor that senses a second force applied to a second resistance band, a single electronics module with a single transceiver for wirelessly communicating with a remote device, and a flexible strap physically coupling with the first and second resistance bands. The flexible strap has conductive pathways electrically coupling the force sensors to the single electronics module. The single electronics module communicates values indicative of the first and second forces to the remote device via the single transceiver. The flexible strap does not stretch and protects the conductive pathways from excessive stress. The resistance-band exercise monitoring device may be configured in multiple ways to perform a wide variety of exercises.
Seat belt tension indicator
The present invention is directed to child safety seats, and more particularly to a harness or belt tensioning indicator for a child safety seat harness system. The tension indicator includes a body portion for receiving a belt, harness or webbing. The tension indicator also includes a sliding indicator that is capable of moving from a first, unactuated position to a second, actuated position when the belt, harness or webbing that is received in the body portion is tensioned from a first tension to a second, correct tension.
Monitoring system for an archery bow, monitoring devices, and methods for same
A method for diagnosing an abnormality of an archery bow is provided. The method includes detecting, by one or more controllers, an operating condition of the archery bow from at least one onboard monitoring device of the archery bow, and comparing, by the one or more controllers, the operating condition to a threshold operating condition. The method further includes identifying, by the one or more controllers, an abnormal condition based on the comparing of the operating condition to the threshold operating condition, and presenting, by the one or more controllers, the abnormal condition to a user. A non-transitory computer readable medium for performing the method is also provided.
System for monitoring tension force of tendon in post-tensioning
A system for monitoring tension forces of tendons disposed inside a concrete structure in post-tensioning includes a hydraulic jack coupled to one tendon at one end of the concrete structure to apply the tension force to the tendon by means of the forward movement of a piston; a hydraulic pump connected to the hydraulic jack by means of a hydraulic pressure supply pipe to supply a hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic jack; a digital elongation length measurement sensor disposed on the hydraulic jack to measure the elongation length of the piston; a measurement unit having a data logger adapted to receive and store the elongation length data measured by the digital elongation length measurement sensor and to send the elongation length data to a main server; a digital pressure measurement sensor disposed on the hydraulic pressure supply pipe of the hydraulic pump; and a control module adapted to receive the elongation length data from the data logger or the main server, calculate the tension force, compensate for the coefficient of elasticity of the tendon according to the ratio of the real-time elongation length data to the pressure data, and compensate for the tension force calculated.
Waist measuring belt
In various example embodiments, devices, systems, and methods for a waist measuring belt are provided. An example waist measuring belt is made up of a belt buckle frame with attachments for a belt strap. The belt further includes a position measuring module coupled to the belt buckle frame that measures an attachment position of a second end of the belt strap to the belt buckle frame. The belt also includes a tension measuring module coupled to the belt buckle frame that measures a tension through the belt buckle frame and the belt strap. A memory and a wireless communication module attached to the belt may be used to store measurements and communicate with a mobile device or server. In various embodiments, estimated user waist sizes over time using measured values and belt-specific data may be used to estimate a user's waist size and generate a waist size history.
Sensor systems and methods for detecting conveyor tension in a mining system based on a trajectory of a conveyor element
A conveyor system that includes a sprocket, a conveyor element, a sensor, a tensioning system, and an electronic processor. The conveyor element is coupled to the sprocket to move around the sprocket. The sensor is positioned adjacent to the sprocket and configured to generate an output signal indicative of a detection of the conveyor element. The electronic processor is coupled to the sensor and to the tensioning system. The electronic processor is configured to receive the output signal from the sensor, estimate a trajectory of the conveyor element based on the output signal, determine a value for slack distance based on the estimated trajectory of the conveyor element, and control the tensioning system based on the value for slack distance.
Method and apparatus for performing field elongation measurements
An improved method and apparatus for evaluating post-tensioning tendons, where the apparatus uses a positioning head placed directly into the pocket and against the anchor without making contact with the wedges as the apparatus seats on the tendon. From this position the apparatus evaluates the tendon by marking, measuring the tendon, and/or determining its location with increased reliability and precision.
