A device for measuring tension on a continuous track includes a shaft having a hollow cross section, a pin disposed at least partially through an aperture of the top end of the shaft, a compression member disposed within the inner volume of the shaft such that the pin contacts the compression member, and a base having a hollow cross section and removably attached to an outer surface of the shaft. When the base is attached to the outer surface of the shaft at a predetermined height, and the pin is depressed into the inner volume of the shaft at a predetermined distance, the distance between the top end of the pin and an end of the base is known.

Method and device for monitoring chain tension
Chain tension monitoring device (40) is configured for monitoring a chain tension force (F.sub.C) of a drive chain (27) extending in a longitudinal direction forming closed loop between two sprockets (26, 28). The chain tension monitoring device (40) comprises a sensor device (41) configured for mechanically contacting the drive chain (27), detecting movement of the drive chain (27) transversely, in particular orthogonally, to the longitudinal direction of the drive chain (27), and providing a detection signal indicating the detected movement of the drive chain (27); and an evaluator (50) configured for receiving the detection signal provided by the sensor device (41) and determining a chain tension force (F.sub.C) of the drive chain (27) from said detection signal.
Method and device for monitoring chain tension
Chain tension monitoring device (40) is configured for monitoring a chain tension force (F.sub.C) of a drive chain (27) extending in a longitudinal direction forming closed loop between two sprockets (26, 28). METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING LINE SAG IN A CONDUCTOR SPAN
A method and apparatus for calculating line sag in a span of a conductor is provided. The method includes using a portable smart device having one or more accelerometers and running a line sag application on the processing device. The line sag application enables acceleration data of return waves generated on the conductor to be collected using the smart device and to be plotted as a function of time for display on the smart device. The method further includes placement of time markers on the plotted data displayed on the smart device to determine elapsed time and calculating line sag using the elapsed time.
