Reduced stress pressure sensor

A pressure sensor comprises a first substrate containing a processing circuit integrated thereon and a cap attached to the first substrate. The cap includes a container, a holder, and one or more suspension elements for suspending the container from the holder. The container includes a cavity and a deformable membrane separating the cavity and a port open to an outside of the pressure sensor. The container is suspended from the holder such that the deformable membrane faces the first substrate and such that a gap is provided between the deformable membrane and the first substrate which gap contributes to the port. Sensing means are provided for converting a response of the deformable membrane to pressure at the port into a signal capable of being processed by the processing circuit.

Microfabricated pressure transducer

A microfabricated pressure transducer is formed in a multilayer substrate by etching a plurality of shallow and deep wells into the layers, and then joining these wells with voids formed by anisotropic etching. The voids define a flexible membrane over the substrate which deforms when a force is applied.

An over-pressure indicator, including a cup-shaped body having, on its bottom, a hole inside which is sealably housed a mobile element loaded by a spring towards the bottom of the cup-shaped body, the mobile element facing an indicator sensitive part for communication with an area where pressure verification is wanted. The mobile element coupled with a signaller of a movement thereof. The spring pressed by a pre-loading ring nut screwed onto the cup-shaped body. The nut torsionally removably coupled with a calibration cap of the indicator. The calibration cap having at least one stop that, when it abuts against a portion of the cup-shaped body, limits further screwing of the nut thus determining pressure beyond which mobile element movement is allowed. The movement causing intervention of the indicator so by coupling the suitable calibration cap and indicator and screwing it in fully, setting the indicator intervention pressure is possible.

An air pump includes a barrel and a pumping device moving with respect to the barrel when the air pump is operated. A joint assembly fluidly connecting to the air pump is disposed on the barrel and includes a first hole to receive air from the air pump, a connecting device including a rotatable adaptor, and a second hole extending through the rotatable adaptor and fluidly connecting to the first hole. A pressure gauge connects to the joint assembly on the rotatable adaptor, includes an air inlet hole fluidly connecting to the second hole, has a first side thereof including a first dial with a first measuring range and a second side thereof including a second dial with a second measuring range different from the first measuring range, and is rotatable between use positions thereof.

Apparatus and method for assisting with fluid pressure measurement

An apparatus for assisting with measurement of a fluid pressure includes a cover layer having a leading cover edge and upper and lower cover surfaces. A cover aperture fluidly connects the upper and lower cover surfaces. A spacer layer has oppositely facing upper and lower spacer surfaces. A cavity has an upper cavity surface, defined by the lower cover surface, which includes the leading cover edge and the cover aperture. A measuring tube is located adjacent to the upper cover surface. The measuring tube includes a tube lumen. When the lower spacer surface is connected to the substrate, the substrate defines a lower cavity surface and extant fluid is present within the cavity. Variable fluid flowing toward the cavity exerts pressure on the extant fluid to generate an extant fluid pressure level which is physically transmitted through the apparatus and made available for measurement as an extant fluid pressure level.

Measuring element made of steel with hardened edge zone

A steel measuring element is provided. The steel measuring element is made of an austenitic chromium-nickel steel with a low carbon and nitrogen content for measuring pressure, with an edge zone being provided with increased hardness.
