HEAVY DUTY SHELVING ASSEMBLY

Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to an apparatus comprising a heavy duty shelving assembly. The apparatus comprises shelving assemblies that may be used to store relatively heavy objects such as vehicle components, athletic weights, or the like. The apparatus comprises a plurality of vertical columns including column members that are selectively coupled to one another, a plurality of horizontal supports that extend between the column members, and a plurality of shelves that are positioned on the horizontal supports. The apparatus may also include a center brace extending between opposing horizontal supports. The horizontal supports include a truss portion connected to a support portion; the truss portion distributes the downward forces applied to the support portion by the shelves. The design of the apparatus and the truss increases the downward forces that may be applied to the shelf, thereby increasing the weight capacity of the shelves and the apparatus. The column members are configured for selective coupling by incorporating a main portion that comprises a plurality of apertures and a coupling portion that extends outward from the main portion such that it may accept at least part of a main portion of an adjacent column member. The coupling portion further comprises one or more engagement tabs that are configured to engage the apertures of an adjacent column member. In at least one embodiment, the engagement tabs are formed through stamping, thereby minimizing or entirely eliminating areas where stress can concentrate when the apparatus is under load. This feature reduces or eliminates the potential of a partial failure when the apparatus is under load.

The invention relates to a shelf support for supporting a shelf plate and to an arrangement in a shelf. The shelf support comprises a support part arranged to be extending outside of the side wall aperture, a pin part arranged to be inserted into the side wall aperture and a stopping surface provided to the support part. The pin part protrudes from the stopping surface and the stopping surface is arranged to be placed against the side wall surface when the pin part is inserted into the side wall aperture. The pin part further extends from the stopping surface in a pin angle (X, Y) in relation to a direction (A) perpendicular to the stopping surface.

Bracket connection structure and bracket

The present invention discloses a bracket connection structure, used for connecting a supporting piece with a fixed piece of a bracket. The bracket connection structure includes at least one group of connection hole structures arranged on the supporting piece and at least one group of convex structures arranged on the fixed piece. Jacks include insertion portions and clamping portions which are communicated with each other. A clearance of the clamping portions is smaller than that of the insertion portions. Convex clasps are inserted into the insertion portions and move to be clamped into the clamping portions. Further, corresponding positions on the back surfaces of the jacks are all provided with electric connection sheets connected to an external power supply. The present invention further provides a bracket, including a supporting piece and a fixed piece. The supporting piece and the fixed piece are connected through the bracket connection structure.

A shelving unit is disclosed and includes a plurality of posts, a plurality of shelf-supporting beams attached to the plurality of posts to form a shelf support frame, and a shelf. The shelf has a plurality of sides seated on the shelf support frame. The plurality of the sides of the shelf includes a depending flange. At least one of the depending flanges extends downwardly along a respective shelf-supporting beam between about 30% and about 100% of the width of the shelf-supporting beam. Another shelf unit is further disclosed where the shelves include a color that corresponds to a color-coded system for organizing the storage of items on the shelving unit. A method of organizing a shelving unit utilizing the color-coded shelf system is also disclosed.
