Sensor with variation in impedance or inductance following a variation of a measurand

A device for determining a measurand, includes a first pattern made from a first conductive material, the first pattern having a first impedance and having a first end and a second end spaced apart from the first end, a second pattern at least arranged between the first end and the second end of the first pattern, being in electrical contact with the first pattern. The second pattern has a second impedance that changes continuously as a function of the measurand, such that the impedance or the inductance of the assembly formed by the first and second patterns changes continuously as a function of the measurand. The device also comprises a means for determining the impedance or the inductance of the assembly, formed by the first and second patterns.

A space-saving pressure sensor for a metal or plastics processing tool is configured to perform date stamping during injection molding with the processing tool. The pressure sensor is configured to be inserted into a single drilled hole of the tool. A first cast-compatible mark and a second cast-compatible mark of the pressure sensor may be adjusted against one another in such a way that a variety of different date marks can be created, which may then be applied to different injection-molded products. The pressure sensor may be used within the framework of manufacturing an injection-molded product.

Non-invasive pressure measurement system

A system includes a safety system having one or more valves configured to block a flow of fluid from a source to a destination, a non-invasive pressure measurement system having a plurality of non-invasive pressure sensors configured to monitor a pressure of the fluid without directly contacting the fluid, and a controller configured to receive feedback from the non-invasive pressure measurement system and to adjust a position of the one or more valves of the safety system based on the feedback.

In-cylinder pressure measurement utilizing a magneto-elastic element for measuring a force exerted on an engine valve assembly

A force sensor can include a magnetic field generator, a magnetic flux return, and a magneto-elastic layer. The magnetic flux return can extend along a first portion of at least one pathway of magnetic flux generated by the magnetic field generator. The magneto-elastic layer can be operable to be in contact with a surface subjected to force and thereby strained. The magneto-elastic layer can extend along a second portion of the at least one pathway of magnetic flux distinct from the first portion.
