Thermal Insulation System for a Capacitance Diaphragm Gauge

A capacitance diaphragm gauge (CDG) assembly includes a CDG sensor positioned within a vacuum enclosure, which is maintained at a vacuum. The CDG sensor generates sensor signals responsive to a pressure of an applied gas. The vacuum enclosure provides thermal insulation around the CDG sensor. The CDG sensor is maintained at a selected operating temperature using an internal heater positioned on the CDG sensor. The internal heater is responsive to external heater control signals. The temperature of the CDG sensor is monitored using an internal temperature sensor mounted on the CDG sensor. The temperature sensor generates a temperature signal. The vacuum enclosure includes an end cap that seals the vacuum enclosure. Connectors positioned through the end cap communicate the sensor signals, the heater control signals and the temperature signals through the end cap. The connectors are hermetically sealed to the end cap to maintain the vacuum within the vacuum enclosure.

LEAKAGE DETECTION DEVICE AND WATER SYSTEM COMPRISING A LEAKAGE DETECTION DEVICE
20170315015 · 2017-11-02 ·

A leakage detection device for detecting water leakage in a water pipe of a water system after a stop valve of the water system is closed. The leakage detection device may be part of a stop valve, and may include an interior chamber connectable to the water pipe in such a way so as to receive a stagnation volume of the water when the water flow through the water pipe is stopped by the stop valve. An actuation element provides a force acting on a diaphragm or a piston in the direction of the first interior chamber and against or into the stagnation volume of water. If water leakage is present in the water pipe, the diaphragm or piston will move under the applied force to compensate for the leakage in the water pipe. A sensor unit may detect water leakage in the water pipe based on the movement.

Arrangement with capacitive pressure-measuring cell has a diaphragm for measuring vacuum pressure and a printed circuit board acting as a temperature sensor and another electronic component designed as a microchip that contains a digital signal processor with a temperature-to-digital converter and a capacitance-to-digital converter using a time measuring method. The converters determine temperature and capacitance of the cell in comparison to a reference resistor for temperature arranged on the printed circuit board and reference capacitor for capacitance for the pressure to be measured dependent on deformation of the diaphragm. A temperature-corrected pressure signal derived from the two measured signals uses correlation, the measured signals having been determined in advance from a calibration process, and the temperature-corrected pressure signal is provided as a pressure signal at the signal output for further processing. In this manner there is quick pressure measurement with high measuring accuracy.

Pressure sensors having ring-tensioned membranes are disclosed. A tensioning ring is bonded to a membrane in a manner that results in the tensioning ring applying a tensile force to the membrane, flattening the membrane and reducing or eliminating defects that may have occurred during production. The membrane is bonded to the sensor housing at a point outside the tensioning ring, preventing the process of bonding the membrane to the housing from introducing defects into the tensioned portion of the membrane. A dielectric may be introduced into the gap between the membrane and the counter electrode in a capacitive pressure sensor, resulting in an improved dynamic range.
