Pressure sensor assemblies with protective pressure feature

Pressure sensor assemblies comprise a sensor body having a membrane within the body for placement in communication with a fluid from an external source and determining a pressure of the fluid. A support is connected with the body and includes a channel extending therethrough for receiving the fluid, wherein the channel is in fluid-flow communication with the membrane. A substrate is connected with the support and comprises a channel extending therethrough for receiving the fluid from an external source. The support may be formed from a material having a coefficient of thermal expansion that is between a coefficient of thermal expansion of the support and a coefficient of thermal expansion of the external fluid source connected with the substrate. One of the substrate or the support comprises a fluid pressure mitigation feature for mitigating the transmission of a pressure spike in the fluid to protect the sensor membrane.

PRESSURE RIPPLE MITIGATION IN PRESSURE SENSORS

A fluid flow arrangement includes a manifold defining a fluid passage. A pressure sensor system is in fluid communication with the fluid passage. The pressure sensor system has a first sensor arranged along a first sense line and a second sensor arranged along a second sense line. The first and second sense lines are in fluid communication with the fluid passage. The first sense line has a first resonant frequency and the second sense line has a second resonant frequency. The second resonant frequency is different than the first resonant frequency.

Pneumatic pressure probe

A pneumatic pressure probe comprises an orifice tube extending through a plastic bushing that seals a pressure chamber. The orifice tube has a passage shaped substantially like a converging/diverging de Laval nozzle to reduce turbulence in fluid flow through the probe. More laminar fluid flow reduces noise and inaccuracy in the output of the probe. Laminar flow also reduces user dependent results. The plastic bushing and a specially shaped probe tip reduce extraneous fluid leakages from the probe.

Clog resistant low pass filter for a pressure transducer

A reconfigurable pressure transducer assembly having an input tube filter assembly is provided. Multiple small inlet apertures of the transducer housing or input tube filter assembly may be utilized to filter particulate matter from the measurement media/fluid. The resonant frequency and dampening characteristics of the pressure transducer assembly may be configured by the input tube filter assembly such that temporary clogging of a portion of the small inlet apertures does not appreciably affect the resonant frequency and dampening characteristics. The input tube filter assembly includes one or more inserts disposed in an input tube channel, the one or more inserts including one or more apertures of selectable dimensions and extending therethrough from a first end to a second end. The one or more inserts define at least a filter aperture, and the input tube filter assembly is tunable by selection of the selectable dimensions of the one or more inserts.

Draft range transmitter enclosure

A method and structure which provide an ambient pressure measurement that is unaffected by wind and localized environmental conditions. A draft range pressure transmitter is enclosed inside an enclosure which is resistant to wind and other transient localize environmental conditions. A vent cap allows slow air movement through a wall of the enclosure and forms a still air chamber for the transmitter. The pressure inside the enclosure changes at the same rate as the barometric pressure but is unaffected by wind or wind gusts.

Pressure transducer assembly with selectable damping inserts

A reconfigurable pressure transducer assembly having an input tube filter assembly is provided. The resonant frequency and dampening characteristics associate with the pressure transducer assembly may be configured by the input tube filter assembly. The input tube filter assembly includes one or more inserts disposed in an input tube channel, the one or more inserts including one or more bores of selectable dimensions and extending therethrough from a first end to a second end. The one or more inserts define an effective input tube bore, and the input tube filter assembly is tunable by selection of the selectable dimensions of the one or more inserts.

Precharge manifold system and method

A pulsation dampener system is provided. The pulsation dampener system includes a pump that pumps fluid through the pulsation dampener system. A pulsation dampener is located downstream from the pump and dampens pulsations within the fluid. A pressure sensor is located downstream from the pump and detects a pump pressure of the fluid at the pulsation dampener. A wye pipe located downstream of the pulsation dampener and the pressure sensor that diverts the fluid into two or more flow paths. From the wye, a first flow path increases pump pressure of the fluid and a second flow path allows the fluid to flow unrestricted. Piping receives the fluid from the first flow path and the second flow path and discharges the fluid further downstream.
