Methods, systems and a kit for indicating brake air pressure status in brake pipes of multiple interconnected train cars are provided. The methods include operating at least one end-hose adapter per train car. Each end-hose adapter is mounted between a train car end hose and a brake pipe to be in fluid communication therewith and are configured to sense the brake air pressure in the brake pipe. Each end-hose adapter kit includes connections adapters for connecting either end to different parts of the train car system. The end-hose adapter provides a first visual indication when the brake air pressure is within an operable range and/or a second visual indication when the brake air pressure is below an operable value and is experiencing leakage.
Dual output pressure sensor with single pressure transducer element
A dual range sensor apparatus includes a single pressure transducer element coupled to respective inputs of two discrete signal conditioning modules, or to both inputs of a multiple input signal conditioning module that is configured to condition the output signal of two transducer elements. The disclosed sensor apparatus outputs a pressure signal in a limited pressure range with very high accuracy, and also provides a pressure signal in a wider pressure range with the same accuracy that can be achieved with traditional pressure sensor configurations. The sensor apparatus may provide output on a single output node in a multiplexed output signal format. The multiplexed output signal format may include several digital output formats and may be provided on a single output pin of the sensor apparatus.
METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE THERMODYNAMIC STATE OF THE FUEL IN A FUEL SYSTEM
Determining the thermodynamic state of fuel includes opening the venting connection to release the tank pressure while monitoring the derivative pressure (dP/dt), closing the venting connection when one of the following conditions is met, the derivative pressure (dP/dt) is lower than a predetermined threshold DP1 or the opening time t1 reaches a predetermined value, if the closing of the venting connection occurs when the opening time t1 reaches the said predetermined value, determining that the fuel is boiling and aborting the method if the closing of the venting connection occurs when the derivative pressure (dP/dt) is lower than the said threshold DP1, measuring an initial tank pressure at the closing of the venting connection, measuring the final tank pressure after a closure time t2, calculating the pressure variation (P/t2), comparing the pressure variation (P/t2) with a first threshold PV1, if the pressure is lower then aborting the method.
Pressure indicating fire sprinkler device
A device and method for verifying the readiness of a building's fire sprinkler system. The device includes an adapter that is secured between the sprinkler pipe and the sprinkler assembly, a pressure switch to measure the fluid pressure in the fire sprinkler system, an indicator which notifies occupants if there is enough fluid pressure at the sprinkler assembly for the sprinkler to operate properly, and a power source for the pressure switch and indicator. During operation of the sprinkler system, water flows from the sprinkler pipe, through the adapter and into the sprinkler assembly.
GRIP STRENGTH DETECTION MECHANISM, EXERCISE APPARATUS PROVIDED WITH GRIP STRENGTH DETECTION MECHANISM, AND METHOD FOR USING EXERCISE APPARATUS
Provided are a grip strength detection mechanism, an exercise apparatus provided with the same, and a method for using the same. The exercise apparatus is provided with: a grip part 12 comprising a cylindrical flexible member; sealing members 13, 16 which seal both ends of the grip part 12 to form a deformable sealed space 18 which is surrounded by the grip part 12; a pressure sensor 28 which is held by the sealing member 16 and detects the pressure within the sealed space 18; and a control unit which detects, as the pressure within the grip part, a reference grip strength which is not more than the maximum grip strength detected by the pressure sensor 28 in order to display, on a display unit 7, the grip strength of a user gripping the grip part 12.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING A FLUID PRESSURE AT A FLUID FLOW METER BEING INSTALLED IN A PIPE NETWORK
A method determines a fluid pressure at a fluid flow meter installed in a pipe network that is supplied with fluid at a varying and/or variable input pressure. The method includes recording input pressure information for a determination of a difference between input pressures in a first considered time-window and second considered time-window, aggregating statistical data of a plurality of fluid flow events and/or fluid volume consumption events during the first considered time-window and the second considered time-window, providing the aggregated statistical data to a head-end system (HES) that has access to the input pressure information and determining, by the head-end system, a fluid pressure at the fluid flow meter based on a change in the aggregated statistical data between the first considered time-window and the second considered time-window, and the difference between the input pressures in the first considered time-window and the second considered time-window.
Pressurized-fluid container with a pressure indicator device
A pressurized fluid container having a pressure indicator device, the device having-a piston sensitive to the prevailing pressure in the pressurized fluid container, the piston moving, depending on the value of the pressure in the pressurized fluid container, between at least a retracted position and a deployed position; an indicator component configured to cooperate with the piston, the indicator component moving, depending on the position of the piston, between at least a first position representing a first pressure value and a second position representing a second pressure value.
