Wheel balancer with wireless handle
A wheel clamping system, for reversibly clamping a motor vehicle wheel with a rim onto a wheel servicing machine, includes a handle for acting on a rim of the wheel mounted on a rotatable spindle. The handle has a coupling surface for engaging with clamping jaws of a pull rod when the clamping jaws are open. The handle includes a force detecting device for determining an amount of force exerted by the handle on the rim of the wheel, and a signal emitter operatively connected to the force detecting device. The signal emitter is configured to wirelessly transmit a control signal to a signal receiver of the wheel balancer operatively connected to an actuator causing axial movement of the pull rod when the determined amount of force reaches a predefined threshold, such that the actuator is actuated and the wheel clamping system performs a reversible clamping operation.
VEHICLE WHEEL SERVICE APPARATUS
A vehicle wheel service apparatus that includes: a frame; a plurality of working tools, connected to the frame and movable to perform operations for mounting and/or demounting the tyre relative to the wheel rim; a shaft driven by an actuator rotationally about a longitudinal axis and connectable to the rim; a measuring system for generating vibration signals representing vibrations of the shaft produced by wheel imbalances; a control unit, connected to the measuring system to receive the vibration signals; a support device, connected to the frame and movable between an activated position, where it encircles the shaft while still allowing it to rotate, and a deactivated position, where it is spaced from the shaft; a connector, movable between a working position, where it mechanically connects the measuring system to the frame, and a rest position, where the measuring system is mechanically disengaged from the frame.
Wheel servicing machine with force detecting device
The present invention relates to a wheel clamping system for reversibly clamping a motor vehicle wheel with a rim onto a wheel servicing machine, wherein the wheel clamping system comprises at least one force measuring device for measuring the value of a clamping force exerted by the wheel clamping system on a rim of a motor vehicle wheel held on the main shaft.
Method and apparatus for uniquely identifying tyres for wheels of vehicles as part of vehicle wheel maintenance processes
A method and associated apparatus for uniquely identifying tyres for wheels of vehicles as part of wheel maintenance processes. The method envisages that a vehicle wheel is mounted on a support of a wheel maintenance apparatus, said wheel comprising a rim and a tyre. Moreover, a digital code is created to uniquely identify the tyre. Finally, via a marking system, preferably of the optical type, at least one marking is created on the surface of one side wall of the tyre of said wheel, corresponding to the previously created digital code.
TOOL FOR BALANCING A TURBINE ENGINE MODULE COMPRISING A CANTILEVERED STATOR
A tool for balancing a turbine engine module in a balancer, the module including a stator, a rotor and a shaft, the balancer including at least one power drive unit and a table equipped with two support of the shaft of the module. The tool includes at least: one stator support, fixed on the table of the balancer behind the supports, a tubular false bearing, configured to support a bearing for guiding the rotor in the stator and protruding outside of the stator, a guiding sleeve of the shaft, confining a support of the false bearing, and received on the supports of the balancer, a rear support plate of the stator, fixed to the support of the stator, and immobilising the rotor with respect to the stator, a front support plate of the stator, fixed to the stator support, and immobilising and centring the false bearing.
Nonlinear Instability Scientific Demonstrator for Vehicle Dynamics
An apparatus and a method for demonstrating a new scientific discovery made by the inventor about the nonlinear instability of vehicles, like aircrafts, automobiles and ocean vehicles. The apparatus comprises a model and a three-gimbaled framework that permits the model to respond to inertial moments about the axes of which the moments of inertias are the smallest and the largest. In these two axes, the apparatus has restoring and damping capabilities. The apparatus also comprises external driven mechanisms to rotate the model about the intermediate principal axis of inertia. A method with closed form formulas for the external driven frequencies and amplitudes to be used to excite the nonlinear instabilities of the model is given. The model could be an aircraft, an automobile, a ship, or even a rectangular block.
Balancing device, uniformity device and methods for utilizing the same
A balancing device, a uniformity device and an apparatus including the balancing device and the uniformity device are disclosed. Each of the balancing device and the uniformity device includes at least one multi-axis transducer. Methods are also disclosed.
DYNAMIC BALANCER WITH A FRAMELESS MOTOR DRIVE
A dynamic balancer includes an outer housing and a spindle assembly rotatably mounted to the outer housing. A frameless motor assembly is connected to selected components of the spindle assembly. A chucking assembly receives a locking member to capture a tire therebetween. The chucking assembly and the locking member are captured in the spindle assembly and rotated by the frameless motor assembly. A spring-biased return cylinder may be used with the dynamic balancer to assist in capturing and releasing the locking member with respect to the chucking assembly. An adjustable encoder assembly may be associated with the motor assembly to monitor a rotational position of the tire and/or spindle assembly.
