Pipe tester device
A pipe tester connector includes rigid cylindrical member. The rigid cylindrical member defines a first side hole. A continuous flexible cup member includes circular floor portion and a central tubular portion extending upwardly therefrom. A first flexible sleeve extends from the top of the flexible cup. The first flexible sleeve has a folded down first position and a folded up second position, in which it envelopes the end of the first pipe. A first hose clamp secures the flexible sleeve to the pipe. An attachment unit includes a rigid insert, an attachment pipe, a first adapter and an attachment. The rigid insert is disposed against the tubular portion of the interior surface of the flexible cup. The rigid insert defines a hole in alignment with the first side hole and the second side hole, through which the attachment pipe passes. An adapter is affixed to the attachment pipe.
TEST VALVE ASSEMBLY WITH EXTRACTION MECHANISM
A pipeline has a fitting with a wedge-shaped plug pressed into a wedge-shaped fitting recess by a retaining ring to block flow through the fitting for pressure testing. The plug has an extractor plate fastened to the plug through a center of the retaining ring so the retaining ring can rotate relative to the plug and extractor plate. But the extractor plate is a predetermined maximum distance from the plug and is larger than the center opening of the retaining ring to captivate the retaining ring between the plug and extractor plate. That limits the retaining ring motion along the port's axis. Threading engagement between the retaining ring and port allow the retaining ring to push the plug into the fitting in a first rotation direction while rotation in the opposite direction allows the retaining ring to push the extractor plate and the connected plug out of the fitting.
THERMOWELL WITH PRIMARY SEAL VERIFICATION
A thermowell assembly is provided for use in measuring a temperature of a process fluid. The thermowell assembly includes an elongate thermowell body which is configured to mount to a process vessel and extend into the process fluid contained in the process vessel. An elongate bore extends along a length of the elongate thermowell body from a proximal end of the elongate thermowell body proximate a wall of the process vessel to a sealed distal end of the elongate thermowell body positioned in the process fluid. A side bore extends from an exterior of the thermowell assembly to the elongate bore. The side bore is positioned outside of the process vessel. A verification valve includes an inlet coupled to the side bore at the exterior of the thermowell assembly and further includes an outlet. The verification valve allows an operator to verify a presence of process fluid in the elongate bore by opening the verification valve and observing process fluid at the outlet of the verification valve.
Flexible universal bladder tool for detecting leaks in a closed fluid system
A flexible universal bladder tool is disclosed to be coupled between a source of smoke and a fluid system to be tested for leaks, such as that found in the automotive industry. The bladder tool is an inflatable bladder that surrounds a flexible smoke delivery tube which communicates with the source of smoke and a fluid duct of the system under test. By virtue of the flexible nature of the smoke delivery tube, the inflatable bladder is adapted to be bent around any of a variety of curved fluid ducts. The flexible smoke delivery tube is detachable from the tool so that the tube can be quickly replaced with a different tube having a different length. The inflatable bladder is filled with fluid (e.g., air) to expand into sealing engagement with the fluid duet, and the system under test is pressurized with smoke supplied thereto by way of the flexible smoke deliver tube.
Safety procedure and testing mechanism for valve replacement and leak detection on a tank car
Aspects of the invention include methods and systems for a testing mechanism to be utilized when repairing and replacing a valve utilized on a tank car. The testing mechanism may comprise a pipe plug device configured to plug a siphon pipe located on a tank car and a pressure test device to conduct a leak detect test after the pipe plug device is removed from the siphon pipe. The pipe plug device may include a pipe plug bladder and a pipe plug pressure fitting to inflate and deflate the pipe plug bladder against a wall of the siphon pipe. The pressure test device may include a pressure test valve cap with a test valve bladder located on the pressure test valve cap, a bladder pressure fitting to inflate and deflate the test valve bladder, and a test pressure fitting to pressurize a valve, the test pressure fitting located on the pressure test valve cap.
Adapter system for a check valve
An adapter system for a check valve which comprises a housing open at the bottom and a lateral wall pierced by a hole, and a flap fitted inside the housing and movable between a shut-off position in which the flap shuts off the hole and a free position in which the flap does not shut off the hole. A plug is provided for being inserted into the hole through an end face and a stop is provided for being placed against the lateral wall of the housing opposite the lateral wall pierced by the hole and comprising an attachment device provided for attaching the stop to the housing and provided so that the plug comes to rest against the stop. Such an adapter system may be installed without it being necessary to dismantle the housing.
PRESSURE TEST PLUG FOR IMPROVED TUBULAR THREADED COMPONENT
A plug for a pressure test configured for a tubular component, the tubular component including a male threaded element at a free end, the male threaded element including a male thread and a sealing surface, the plug including a thread compatible with the male thread, an inner annular groove, and a sealing ring held in the groove such that the sealing ring is radially compressed between an outer periphery of the male threaded element and a bottom of the inner annular groove.

Pipe sealing device and methods of making and using the same
The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to an apparatus for releasably sealing a pipe. Particularly, the apparatus comprises a bar that includes an interior, an exterior, a first end that includes external threads, and a second end that includes a stop. The device further comprises a sleeve positioned over a portion of the bar, and a coupling comprising internal threads that couple to the bar external threads. The device includes a compressible gasket sandwiched between first and second adaptors. Advancement of the coupling over the bar external threads increases pressure on the sleeve, which compresses the gasket between the first and second adaptors.
