Systems and methods for evaluating an optical device include a pattern source that provides a pattern suitable for use in the evaluating the optical device. The optical device images the pattern to provide an image. The optical device has an optical device and an image sensor, with an associated image sensor plane. An image analysis system determines, from the image, a tip and a tilt for a component of the optical device relative to the image sensor plane that maximizes a depth of focus for the optical device.

Actively Select Lenses for Camera Focus Processes
20230194251 · 2023-06-22 ·

The techniques of this disclosure relate to actively selecting lenses for camera focus processes. Lenses to be used during camera assembly are chosen based on whether their pairing with a specific set of production components can satisfy focus performance criteria of end of line test. Test equipment may check the lenses by dry-fit aligning them to a particular set of production components. If minimum focus performance cannot be achieved, then a different set of lenses are used to with that set of production components to produce a final camera assembly. This way, because the lenses are actively selected during production to achieve satisfactory focus performance of the EOLT, each final camera assembly is more likely to pass the EOLT, thereby improving camera production output.

Provided is a relay lens including a plurality of relay optical systems that are arranged in a long, rigid tube along a longitudinal direction and that re-form an image, wherein each of the relay optical systems includes a pair of rod lenses that are disposed with a space therebetween in the longitudinal direction, a barrel that is disposed between the pair of rod lenses along the longitudinal direction, and a positive lens that is fixed to an inner side of the barrel and that has a positive refractive power; and a length of the barrel in the longitudinal direction is larger than a thickness of a peripheral edge of the positive lens in the longitudinal direction.

Method of determining the blocking position of an optical lens

Method for determining a position of an optical lens member placed on a lens blocking ring (22). A reference system, blocking ring data, and optical lens member surface data are provided. Position parameters are provided defining a position of a reference point of the surface of the lens member with respect to the main plane of the reference system and an orientation, about the main axis of said placed surface at said reference point. The position of the placed surface is determined according to the position parameters. During a repositioning step (S6) the placed surface is virtually translated and rotated. During an altitude determination step (S7) a difference in position between the blocking ring and the placed surface is determined. The repositioning and altitude determining steps (S6, S7) are repeated so as to minimize the difference in position between the blocking ring and the placed surface.

Provided are a lens power measurement device and a lens power measurement method whereby lens power measurement results of a contact lens can be displayed in a manner which is easy to view, while maintaining fully satisfactory precision of the lens power measurement results. From lens power distribution information determined based on optical property measurement information of a contact lens, correction target information including positive and negative abnormal peaks on both sides of a lens central axis in a lens central area is selected. Lens power distribution measurement results are then obtained by applying substitution using a correction function that smoothes out the abnormal peaks to the selected correction target information to smooth the lens power measurement values.

09766155 · 2017-09-19 · ·

A method for measuring the positions of centers of curvature of optical surfaces of a single- or multi-lens optical system, an imaging lens system simultaneously images an object plane into a first and a second image plane. The optical system is arranged so that a supposed position of a first center of curvature is situated in the first image plane of the imaging lens system and a supposed position of a second center of curvature is situated in the second image plane of the imaging lens system. An object arranged in the object plane is then imaged simultaneously or sequentially at the first and the second image plane by means of measuring light. Reflections of the measuring light at optical surfaces of the optical system are detected by means of a spatially resolving light sensor. The actual positions of the first and the second center of curvature are calculated from the detected reflexes.
