PRECISION NON-CONTACT CORE IMAGING OF FIBER OPTIC ASSEMBLIES

A method, system, and computer program product for determining a core-to-ferrule offset of a ferrule for a fiber optic connector. A reference ferrule is physically aligned with a core imager by positioning the reference ferrule so that edges of the reference ferrule in a plurality of profile images are aligned with fiducial markers in the images. The reference ferrule is incrementally rotated about its longitudinal center access, a core image captured at each rotational angle, and a reference core-to-ferrule offset determined based on the core images. A test ferrule is physically aligned with the core imager by positioning the test ferrule so that edges of the test ferule are aligned with the edges of the reference ferrule in a plurality of profile images. The core-to-ferrule offset of the test ferrule is then determined based on an offset between the test and reference cores in a composite core image.

Power distribution network monitoring system and power distribution network monitoring device

A power distribution network monitoring system includes a plurality of measuring instruments that are installed at predetermined positions on power lines constituting a power distribution network and configured to perform electrical measurement of the power lines; a data collection relay configured to receive data related to measurement results from the plurality of measuring instruments; an imaging unit that is disposed near the data collection relay and configured to capture an image including the data collection relay; an abnormality detector configured to use the image captured by the imaging unit to detect an abnormality in the data collection relay; and a storage unit configured to store image data taken by the imaging unit. The image data consists of a single image previously captured by the imaging unit. The abnormality detector compares the latest image captured by the imaging unit and the image data stored by the storage unit and determines whether or not an appearance of the data collection relay changes. If it is determined that there is no change in the appearance of the data collection relay, the image data in the storage unit is updated with the latest image captured by the imaging unit.

AUTOMATIC TEST SYSTEM FOR ACTUAL STRESS OF A BRIDGE BASED ON DIC TECHNOLOGY

The present disclosure provides an automatic test system for actual stress of a bridge based on DIC technology, where the system includes a camera, a phosphor spraying device, a computer, and a sliding rail; the sliding rail is arranged on both sides of an upper wing of a box-shaped concrete beam; the phosphor spraying device is used to spray phosphor on a web of the box-shaped concrete beam to form speckles of varying light and shade; the camera is slidably connected to the sliding rail through a bracket, and is used to photograph the speckles and transmit a speckle image to the computer; and the computer is used to analyze and process the speckle image taken by the camera and generate a time history diagram of stress.

Leaflet-grouping system
11491011 · 2022-11-08 · ·

A method of using a computer processor for grouping prosthetic valve leaflets of an aggregate of prosthetic valve leaflets is provided. For each leaflet of the aggregate, in response to an image parameter of the leaflet, a leaflet-flexibility value is derived. At least some of the leaflets of the aggregate are designated into leaflet groups, based on similarity between the respective leaflet-flexibility value of each leaflet of the aggregate. For each of the designated leaflet groups, the flexibility value of each leaflet in the designated leaflet group is within the intra-group tolerance with respect to the leaflet-flexibility value of each other leaflet in the designated leaflet group. An indication of the designated leaflet groups is outputted. Other embodiments are also described.

Simultaneous Multi-Surface Non-Contact Optical Profiler
20230099285 · 2023-03-30 ·

An optical test system and corresponding method disclosed herein provides highly accurate test data for both sides of a lens simultaneously and efficiently to analyze the surface topography and/or geometric parameters of a lens or lens system. More particularly, the optical test system and corresponding method moves the lens in test plane to align a plurality of points of a test pattern on a lens surface with a vertical axis while probes aligned with the vertical axis and on opposing sides of the lens simultaneously collect wavelength-specific data for both lens surfaces. The optical test system uses the collected wavelength-specific data to produce a surface topography and/or the associated lens geometric parameters for each lens surface.

The inspection system comprising: an imaging unit comprising two sub-units, the first sub-unit being configured to provide images from a first point of view and the second sub-unit being configured to provide images from a second point of view; and a measuring unit configured to provide data relating to a physical property measured at a measurement location on the user's hand. The imaging unit has a separation sensor configured to measure the separation between the two sub-units of the imaging unit. A method of inspecting and/or servicing a machine is also disclosed.

IMAGING SYSTEM FOR RECORDING IMAGES OF BEARING RACEWAYS
20230089564 · 2023-03-23 ·

An imaging system is for recording images of a bearing raceway and includes a platform having a surface sized to receive the bearing ring and an optical imager having a lens. A positioner secures the optical imager or a reflector oriented to reflect light to the optical imager lens and locates the optical imager lens or the reflector axially between first and second axial ends of the raceway and facing generally toward the raceway. A motor rotates the platform or the positioner relative to the other one of the platform and the positioner. A processor operates the optical imager and the motor such that the optical imager takes a series of images about the entire perimeter of the bearing raceway. The processor also indexes each image to a separate one of a plurality of arcuate segments of the raceway and constructs a panoramic image of the raceway.
