TAMPER-RESISTANT CHEMICAL SAMPLING
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for a tamper-resistant collection and retention a chemical sample. In one embodiment, the tamper-resistant system comprises a container operable to collect and retain a chemical sample, a tamper-resistant mechanism operable to disengage at a first chemical sample to allow for a collection of a chemical sample, wherein the tamper-resistant mechanism is operable to record one or more of: a date, a time, and a location, of the chemical sample during the collection of the chemical sample, and wherein the tamper-resistant mechanism is further operable to re-engage and lock after the collection of the chemical sample to resist subsequent chemical samples after the first chemical sampling.
HISTORY LOGGING FOR SAMPLES OF BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL
A method of reducing quality problems associated with patient sample collection and delivery is provided. It is possible that the method can provide a chain of custody process to better track a sample from the initial point of sample collection to the final point of sample testing. Such a method can also include providing an alert to indicate a potential problem with the quality of the diagnostic test result when a measured parameter exceeds a threshold.
Secure Sample Collection Bottle
A secure specimen sample bottle includes a base container for receiving a specimen. The base container has a plurality of locking protrusions formed along an inner surface of the base receptacle. A bottle includes a lock ring that has an upright spire structure that has a closed top end and the opposing open bottom end including a plurality of flexible fins that are configured to interlockingly mate with the locking protrusions so as to prevent removal of the lock ring relative to the base container upon engagement of the flexible fins to the locking protrusions. A removable cap is coupled to the lock ring.
Opener for Secure Sample Collection Bottle
A system for opening a secure specimen sample bottle includes a base having a first area and a first raised hollow portion for receiving and holding the specimen sample bottle. The first raised hollow portion has a groove formed along an outer surface thereof. The system includes a cutter for cutting a first portion of the specimen sample bottle. The cutter has a handle at a first end and a second end portion that receives the first portion of the specimen sample bottle and a blade for cutting the first portion. The second end portion has a flange with a raised rail formed along an inner surface of the flange, with the raised rail being received within the groove to couple the cutter to first raised portion during performance of a cutting operation.

Aerodynamic Sampling of Particles and Vapors from Surfaces for Real-Time Analysis
A non-contact aerodynamic sampling tool for collecting particles and vapors from the surfaces. Opposing planar jets or planar jet arrays are used to liberate material from surfaces so that particulate matter and vapors can be collected for analysis in real time. High-speed valves may be triggered to create pressure waveforms for high velocity pressurized planar jet bursts, or continuously operated opposing wall jets may be angularly directed toward a target surface, permitting sampling from large standoff distances. The wall jets traverse the surface and exhibit significant drag forces to lift particles into a suction intake. Unlike axisymmetric jets, the wall jets sustain the flow momentum over the target surface for a greater distance, dislodging particles submerged in the boundary layer and significantly improving particle resuspension and vapor collection. Real-time analysis and detection of target analytes are achieved by efficient sample liberation from the surface in the sampling tool and the efficient sample delivery to an analytical module.
BIOLOGICAL SAMPLER, COLLECTOR AND STORAGE CONTAINER
The invention relates to a storage container to receive and store a biopsy sample of an organism, held by a biopsy sample collector. The storage container comprises a container body defining a containment region with an open or openable end. The storage container further comprises a container cap located at the open end. The container cap is able to be removed from the container body by displacement in a direction (herein after removal direction) away from said containment region. The cap includes a passage leading to the containment region the passage able to receive a sample retaining sample collector. The storage container additionally comprises a tamper evident sleeve about at least part of the cap and the container body. The sleeve comprises of two parts that are frangibly connected. The frangible connection is in a manner such that upon displacement of the cap in the removal direction, a first part of the sleeve travels with said cap and a second part of the sleeve is prevented from movement with the first part by said container body to thereby separate the first and second parts. The first and second parts may each include information matched to each other.
Skin-print fluorescence analysis method and apparatus
A method of analyzing a skin-print provided on a first surface of an optically transparent substrate. The method comprises the steps of exposing the skin-print on the first surface of the optically transparent substrate to one or more reagents selected to bind with one or more metabolites present in the skin-print; transmitting electromagnetic radiation onto the skin-print through the optically transparent substrate using a radiation source to thereby produce an optical signal of said one or more reagents and/or said one or more metabolites; and detecting an optical image of the optical signal through the optically transparent substrate using a sensor. Also a skin-print analysis apparatus and a reagent cartridge for use in carrying out the method.
Labeling Method for Medical Samples
An method for labeling and sealing medical samples prevents tampering, saves time, and reduces user error in matching medical samples to patients. The label has two portions, one portion being detachable and each portion having a barcode containing the patient's information as well as areas for the patient's signature, and/or the label also acts as a tamper strip for the sample container, and/or the patient's information is embedded or pre-printed on the sample container, as well as a label to do the same.
