Presented are systems and methods for heat and air regulation in a smoking device. The systems and methods presented herein are applicable to smoking bowls for hookahs and other smoking devices. In some embodiments, an airflow and heat regulation apparatus is presented, comprising a bowl stem or cylinder, with an open upper end and an open lower end and a heating chamber capable of holding heatable matter or other receptacles between the open upper end and open lower end; and a removable lid sealably coupled to the upper end of the stem or cylinder via a lid connection end, the removable lid including an extended rim protruding outwards from the removable lid to beyond the outer edges of the upper end of the stem or cylinder.

In some examples, the inner cylinder and outer cylinder have one or more magnets for securing the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder and for aligning the air and combustion chamber slots with the bore slots. A user may rotate the inner cylinder in relation to the outer cylinder, thereby changing which air and combustion slots are aligned with the bore slots and the smoke channel. As a result of the various alignments, a user is able to vary the temperature, taste, fuel-to-air ratio, and other factors.

Coffee degassing device

A coffee degassing device is disclosed and method. The coffee degassing device comprises a coffee bin and a hollow tree within the bin. The hollow tree has an opening in communication with the interior of the coffee bin. The tree provides an exit path for carbon dioxide off-gassing from the coffee. The device may have a diffusion gas supply conduit. The diffusion gas supply conduit is in communication with the hollow tree and is configured to supply nitrogen, or another diffusion gas, to the degassing tree for accelerating the degassing of coffee.
