MEASURING METHOD AND MEASURING APPARATUS
A measuring method includes: placing resist 20 on a surface of a test film; pressing a template 30 against the resist 20 placed on the surface of the test film; measuring a size of a void formed in the resist 20 after pressing the template 30 against the resist 20; and determining gas permeability of the test film based on the size of the void.
Method for determining pore space parameters and a thermal conductivity of a matrix of porous materials
A porous sample is alternately saturated with at least two saturating fluids with known different thermal conductivities. As at least one saturating fluid a mixture of at least two fluids is used with known and different thermal conductivities. After each saturation thermal conductivity of the saturated sample is measured, and pore space characteristics and matrix thermal conductivity are determined based on the results of thermal conductivity measurements.
AUTOMATED PERMEABILITY TEST FOR A FILTER BASKET
A method for automated cleaning of a filter basket in a bioreactor includes determining permeability of the filter basket. A control unit controls a suction unit for suctioning a residual liquid from the liquid tank, a liquid metering unit for dispensing a liquid having a predetermined liquid volume into the filter basket controls the suction unit to empty the liquid tank by suctioning a filtered liquid volume, measures the volume of the suctioned liquid volume, and sending a first measurement signal to the control unit. The control unit determines a permeability quotient from the volume of the extracted filtered liquid volume to the volume of the dispensed predetermined liquid volume and compares the permeability quotient with a permeability threshold. The control unit then controls a cleaning unit to perform a cleaning process of the filter basket if the permeability quotient is below the permeability threshold.
DETERMINING ROCK PROPERTIES
A method for determining a rock property includes positioning a core sample in a core sample assembly that is enclosed in a pressurized container with a flow inlet, a flow outlet, and a pressurized fluid inlet fluidly coupled to a pressurized fluid reservoir that includes a pressurized fluid pump; sequentially performing at least three test operations on the core sample; at each of the at least three test operations, measuring an inlet pressure at the flow inlet, measuring an outlet pressure at the flow outlet, and measuring a confining pressure within the pressurized container; and determining a permeability of the core sample based at least in part on at least one of the measured inlet pressures, at least one of the measured outlet pressures, and at least one of the measured confining pressures.
Apparatus and method for testing multiple samples
The invention relates to an apparatus for simultaneously injecting fluids into a plurality of samples of porous media, comprising: a plurality of holders for the samples of porous media, each holder comprising a sleeve and first and second platens, the first platen having an inlet for an injection fluid and the second platen having an outlet for a produced fluid, and the samples of porous media being arranged, in use, in each of the holders such that the first platen and second platen of each holder contact a first and second end of the sample of porous medium respectively, the inlet of each first platen being in fluid communication with an injection line for injecting fluid into the sample of porous medium arranged in the holder, the outlet of each second platen being in fluid communication with a dedicated effluent line for removing fluid produced from the sample of porous medium arranged in the holder, on-line and/or off-line analytical means for analyzing the fluids injected into each of the samples of porous media, on-line and/or off-line means for analyzing the fluids removed from each of the samples of porous media. A method of simultaneously injecting injection fluid into the samples of porous media is also provided.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING GASOCHROMIC EMISSION SPECTRA
A detection method and system includes applying a gas to an article, the article including a gasochromic material capable of emitting a radiation emission spectrum in the presence of the gas, the article further including a first absorptive material capable of absorbing radiation in a first narrow bandwidth within the emission spectrum to produce a first narrow bandwidth absorption line in the emission spectrum, irradiating the article in the presence of the gas; and detecting the emission spectrum having the first narrow bandwidth absorption line.
Dual-filter dual-integrity test assembly
A dual-filter dual-integrity test conduit assembly allows for in-situ testing of both filters with separate, duplicate systems for membrane integrity so that if the first tester filter fails, the second filter may be tested with a different, but identical method with its own gauges and nitrogen supply so as to further isolate malfunctions of the filter integrity test equipment as a cause for erroneous batch failures.
Method for injectivity profiling of injection wells
This invention relates to the oil and gas production industry and can be used in geophysical surveys of horizontal and deviated (including vertical) wells for their injectivity profiling and assessment of total fluid loss into the lower zone of a target interval, inaccessible for survey, and below the bottom hole. The proposed technology can be used in the presence of both behind-casing and wellbore cross-flows.
Process for Evaluating The Catalytic Performance of A Porous Solid
Process for evaluating the catalytic performance of a porous solid using a vapor diffusion technique, where a probe molecule and a molecule for dead-time determination is injected into a carrier gas that is then contacted with the porous solid in a vessel, where a detector analyzes the peak width and retention time of a probe molecule and the retention time of the molecule for dead-time determination in the gas exiting the vessel.
Testing petro-physical properties using a tri-axial pressure centrifuge apparatus
A system for testing properties of a sample, the system including a test cell. The test cell includes a cell casing having a first end piece, a second end piece, and at least one wall extending between the first end piece and the second end piece. The cell casing defines a pressure boundary enclosing an interior region of the cell. The test cell further includes a sample chamber, a first reservoir, and a second reservoir disposed within the pressure boundary. The sample chamber defines an interior region. The first reservoir fluidly connects to the interior region of the sample chamber. The second reservoir fluidly connects to the interior region of the sample chamber. The test cell also has a piston assembly having a piston fluid chamber and a piston with a stem extending into the piston fluid chamber. The piston partially defines the sample chamber.
