SITU METHOD OF ANALYZING MIXED-PHASE FLOW COMPOSITIONS
20170314383 · 2017-11-02 ·

The disclosure provides an instrument for determining the contents of a mixed-phase flow, such as that of a petroleum line. The instrument can use far-infrared, mid-infrared laser spectroscopy, Fourier transform spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy methods to determine the components of a mixture, and report the contents to a user.

Device and method for measuring the moisture in die casting molds

A device and a method are provided for measuring the moisture in die cast molds, the cavity of which is connected via an evacuation conduit to an evacuation device. The modular assembly of the device is connectable to the evacuation conduit and includes a sensor assembly to measure the moisture of gases evacuated from the mold cavity. The sensor assembly includes an emitter emitting electromagnetic radiation and a detector detecting electromagnetic radiation. On the basis of the measured values obtained during the evacuation action it can be determined whether the amount of a water/release agent mixture jetted into the mold cavity needs to be altered before the actual casting action.

Arrangement for optically measuring one or more physical, chemical and/or biological, process variables of a medium

A turbidity sensor or an arrangement for optically measuring one or more physical, chemical and/or biological, process variables of a medium. The medium is located in a pipe. The arrangement includes a housing and the housing is embodied for securement in the pipe. The housing is embodied for accommodating at least one light source for sending light through a window region into the medium and at least one light receiver for receiving light through the window region from the medium. The light is scattered by the medium and the light intensity received by the light receiver is a measure for the physical, chemical and/or biological, process variable, characterized in that the light source is so arranged that the light propagates in the medium in the longitudinal direction of the pipe.

DUST SENSOR FOR VEHICLE

A dust sensor includes: a main body in which a dust inlet is formed and including an optical sensor and a lens for collecting light scattered by dust which enters into the main body through the dust inlet; a button unit protruding outwardly from the main body and having one end that is inserted into a coupling hole formed in the main body, wherein the button unit is selectively moved, by a pushing operation of a user, upward and downward with respect to an interior of the main body in which the lens is installed; and a cleaner installed on the one end of the button unit that is inserted into the main body, wherein the cleaner is repeatedly brought into contact with the lens by the upward and downward movement of the button unit.

REMOVABLE INSERT FOR A TEST UNIT HAVING A LIGHT SOURCE FOR ILLUMINATING AN AEROSOL TEST CHAMBER
20170292910 · 2017-10-12 ·

A test unit having a light source (e.g., a laser) for illuminating an aerosol sample directed into a test chamber and a removable insert for the test unit. The test unit includes at least one detector for detecting the effect of the aerosol sample on light, i.e., the detector detects at least one property of light after the light has illuminated the aerosol sample. The removable insert may take a number of different forms. For example, the removable insert can form at least a portion of an unsealed or sealed test chamber when installed in an operating position. Further, the removable insert may include a removable support and at least one film or collection substance connected or applied to the removable support. The at least one film could be a filter or a non-filter. The filter could be a polarization filter (i.e., horizontal or vertical) or a fluorescence filter.

Liquid and plate sensors for microplate injector system

In a sample analyzing apparatus, an injector assembly injects a reagent onto a sample, and luminescent light from the sample is transmitted to a detector. The assembly may be movable toward and away from the sample. The assembly may include one or more needles that communicate with one or more reservoirs supplying reagent or other liquids. The assembly may include a light guide for communicating with the detector. A cartridge may be provided in which the assembly, one or more reservoirs, and one or more pumps are disposed. The cartridge and/or the apparatus may be configured for enabling rinsing or priming to be done outside the apparatus. The cartridge and/or the apparatus may include one or more types of sensors configured for detecting, for example, the presence of liquid or bubbles in one or more locations of the apparatus and/or the cartridge.

DEVICE FOR DETECTING AND/OR ANALYZING BIO-CHIP

In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a biochip detecting device that comprises a first shell (2) connect to a second shell (1), and a rotatable support frame (5) of biochip possessing a detecting zone that holds one or more biochips, and a detector (7).

Reverse Purge Flow Lenses
20170276595 · 2017-09-28 ·

An inspection lens, including a lens tube having a central longitudinal axis and a plurality of axially aligned optical elements, including an outermost element. A sheath surrounding the lens tube and defining there between an annular air flow channel. The sheath has a diversion nozzle at a distal end, terminating in a lens tip. The diversion nozzle is configured to divert the air flow in the annular channel inward toward the longitudinal axis and at a slight reverse angle of between 0-18 degrees relative to a plane normal to the axis and back toward the outermost element creating a reverse oblique impinging jet inside said lens tip that minimizes any recirculation zone in front of the outermost element.
