Apparatus for determining a property of products, in particular plant or animal products, the apparatus comprising: a conveyor configured for conveying products one-by-one along a transport path in a transport direction; a light source configured for illuminating a first illumination area of the transport path, wherein the first illumination area extends substantially across the transverse width of the transport path; and a sensor structure configured for receiving light from a sensing area of the transport path, wherein the sensing area extends substantially across the transverse width of the transport path, wherein the sensing area is adjacent to the first illumination area.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING MOISTURE IN CORN ON EAR
In a method of measuring moisture in corn, an ear of corn is operatively coupled to a moisture meter and an amount of moisture is determined while the ear of corn is being grown on a corn plant. The moisture meter can use a spectrometry to determine the amount of moisture in the corn. A moisture meter includes a corn interface configured to conformingly engage the ear of corn when pressed against the ear of corn to form an optical seal about an opening through which the spectrometer determines the amount of moisture in the corn to inhibit ambient light from passing between the corn interface and the ear of corn into the at least one opening.
Sorting apparatus
A method for sorting products and sorting apparatus with a flow of granular products moving in an inspection zone, in which a light beam is moved over the product flow to generate a reflected stream of light. At least one detector unit is provided to detect light reflected by the products to generate detection signals. This detector unit cooperates with a control unit to sort the products by these detection signals. The detector unit contains at least two sensors that are provided one after the other in the reflected stream of light so that a sensor is placed upstream of a downstream sensor. Each sensor detects a different part of the reflected stream of light.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PHENOTYPING
The present invention relates to the field of phenotyping, particularly to systems and methods for collecting, retrieval and processing of data for accurate and sensitive analysis and prediction of a phenotype of an object, particularly of a plant.
Oil detection process and apparatus
A process for detecting oil or lubricant contamination in a manufactured product, the process comprising adding a fluorescent taggant to oils or lubricants contained in processing machinery for said product, conveying said product past an infrared detection apparatus, irradiating said product with infrared radiation from said detection apparatus as it passes the detection apparatus, and detecting infrared radiation emitted from said irradiated product.

The present disclosure relates to a method and system for the in-situ detection of cadmium chelates in a plant. The method includes: preparing cadmium chloride and phytochelatin (PC) 2 samples with different concentrations; using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) to determine a terahertz (THz) reflection image for the cadmium chloride and PC 2 samples; building a cadmium chloride content detection model according to first spectral data; building a PC 2 content detection model according to second spectral data; determining an optimal mixed sample according to the cadmium chloride content detection model and the PC 2 content detection model; building a Cd—PC.sub.2 content detection model according to the optimal mixed sample; and using the Cd—PC.sub.2 content detection model to determine a cadmium chelate content in a to-be-tested plant. The present disclosure can quickly and in-situ detect the heavy metal accumulation capacity of a plant.
Chlorophyll meters and related method
A method, system, and apparatus for determining chlorophyll content of a plant sample. The method includes emitting light at a first wavelength and a second wavelength into a plant sample with a chlorophyll meter; detecting the light after passing through the plant sample; generating an optical value responsive to a ratio of the percentage of transmitted light through the plant sample for the first wavelength and the second wavelength; and determining chlorophyll content based on the optical value compared with an optical/absolute chlorophyll relationship that was determined by a matched combination of extraction method, extraction solvent, spectrophotometric equation, and spectrophotometer resolution, wherein the optical/absolute relationship is one of a plurality of different optical/absolute relationships that a user may select from for different species. These relationships may link in situ optical measurements with in vitro chlorophyll concentration for display on a chlorophyll meter in units of mass or moles of chlorophyll per unit area or mass of tissue.
Method for identifying frostbite condition of grain seeds using spectral feature wavebands of seed embryo hyperspectral images
The invention discloses a method for identifying frostbite condition of grain seeds using the spectral feature wavebands of the grain seed embryo hyperspectral images. At first, hyperspectral image of the grain seed in the embryo side is collected, and the hyperspectral image in the embryo region of the grain seed is obtained. Then the average spectra is calculated and the wavebands containing noise are eliminated, the spectral feature wavebands are extracted by using related algorithm and the spectra value corresponding with the waveband is obtained. Next, the feature waveband spectral value and the category label of the known frostbite category grain seed are input into the classification model for obtaining the optimal training classification model. Finally, the feature waveband spectral value of each unknown frostbite category grain seed is input into the established model, the frostbite condition of seed is identified.
