Humidity control system

Aspects of the disclosure relate to reducing replacing a desiccant cartridge based upon a condensation risk. In one example, first information corresponding to a current dew point within a sensor housing of a sensor and second information identifying temperature data corresponding to a predefined area where the sensor is projected to travel may be received. Based upon the first and second information a condensation risk corresponding to the likelihood of condensation forming within the sensor housing in the event it traveled within the predefined area based upon the current dew point and the temperature data may be determined. Based upon the determined condensation risk, an indication that a desiccant cartridge within the sensor housing should be replaced to reduce the current dew point and the condensation risk may be provided.

FLEXIBLE SENSOR SYSTEM

A method and system including an architecture to build a sensor device, data logger device, or network of sensor and/or data logger devices such that each element of the device or network contains all the information, including configuration information, commands, timing information, and math needed for higher-level elements to it without any configuration, software, firmware, or driver changes or updates required for the higher-level elements. This allows introduction of new devices or sensors in a simple plug-and-play manner. Derived sensors and alarms may act as independent devices that contain all of the information needed to extract data from lower-level sensors and perform math on it to produce results that appear to higher levels as though the derived sensor was itself a physical sensor.

The disclosure relates to an apparatus for determining the moisture of a sample comprising a solid mixture, comprising at least one sample chamber for receiving the sample, at least one sensor for measuring a characteristic of a gas mixture surrounding the sample and a determination device for determining the moisture of the sample from the at least one characteristic. According to the disclosure, provision is made for the apparatus to comprise an measurement chamber which may be evacuated and which, in terms of flow, is selectively separable from the at least one sample chamber or connectable to the sample chamber, wherein the at least one sensor is configured to measure the characteristic of the gas mixture in the measurement chamber. The disclosure furthermore relates to a corresponding method for determining the moisture of a sample comprising a solid mixture.

A probe includes a base extending lengthwise between a proximal end and a distal end of the probe. A humidity sensor configured to measure a humidity value is disposed at the distal end. A temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature value has an ambient temperature sensing element that is spaced apart from the humidity sensor by a portion of the base and is disposed between the proximal end and the distal end. An interface disposed at the proximal end is configured to output a data signal indicative of humidity and to receive a power signal for heating the humidity sensor. Electronics is disposed on the base past the interface in a direction away from the proximal end and is coupled to the temperature and humidity sensors. The electronics is configured to provide the data signal to the interface as a function of the temperature humidity values.

A control process includes: acquiring a temperature correlating with a cylinder bore wall temperature; and stopping the flow of cooling water in the water jacket, in response to a condition that the acquired temperature is lower than a preset temperature point.
