ULTRASONIC PHASED ARRAY TRANSDUCER FOR THE NDE INSPECTION OF THE JET PUMP RISER WELDS AND WELDED ATTACHMENTS
An ultrasonic phased array transducer assembly having a single housing in which a plurality of phased array transducer subassemblies are mounted at a skewed angle relative to a leading face of the housing and to each other, with each transducer mounted on composite wedge(s) at different orientations within the housing.
System and method for real-time visualization of defects in a material
The present disclosure provides a system and method for real-time visualization of a material during ultrasonic non-destructive testing. The system includes a graphical user interface (GUI) capable of showing a three-dimensional (3-D) image of a composite laminate constructed of a series of two-dimensional (2-D) cross sections. The GUI is capable of displaying the 3-D image as each additional 2-D cross section is scanned by an ultrasonic testing apparatus in real time or near real time, including probable defect regions that contain a flaw such as a hole, crack, wrinkle, or foreign object within the composite. Furthermore, in one embodiment, the system includes an artificial intelligence capable of highlighting defect areas within the 3-D image in real time or near real time and providing data regarding each defect area, such as the depth, size, and/or type of each defect.

In addition, the sensor is adjustable between a first position and a second position via the rail.
Ultrasound imaging method and device with prediction of artefacts induced between reconstruction modes
The invention relates to an ultrasound imaging method for imaging a part (1), characterized by the implementation of the following steps: selecting a first sub-region ({tilde over (Z)}) of the part from a first image (I.sup.A(Z)) of a region (Z) of the part (1), determining, for each point of the first selected sub-region ({tilde over (Z)}), the times of flight (T.sub.ij.sup.A({tilde over (Z)})) corresponding to the paths according to a first reconstruction mode (A) going through the point from a transmitter i to a receiver j for a set of M*N transmitter-receiver couples of an ultrasound signal; determining a second sub-region of the part, a point (P) of the region belonging to the second sub-region when a time of flight (T.sub.ij.sup.B(P)) of the path according to a second reconstruction mode (B) going through the point (P) from a transmitter i to a receiver j of said set of M*N transmitter-receiver couples coincides with a time of flight (T.sup.A({tilde over (Z)})) of a path according to the first reconstruction mode from a transmitter to a receiver from the transmitter i to the receiver j going through one of the points of the first selected sub-region.
INTEGRITY TESTING OF STORAGE TANK STRUCTURE USING ROBOTIC ULTRASOUND
Systems and methods are provided for non-destructive inspection of an interior of a vessel filled with a liquid.
AUTOMATIC TRANSDUCER OPERATING PARAMETER SELECTION
Operating parameters are selected for inspecting a structure. Selecting the operating parameters includes exciting broadband ultrasonic guided waves in a multilayered structure, acquiring data corresponding to the sensed broadband ultrasonic guided waves in the multilayered structure, selecting one or more narrow frequency bands based on the acquired data, and inspecting the multilayered structure using ultrasonic guided waves in the one or more narrow frequency bands. In some examples, the data is acquired by an inspection tool capable of sensing the broadband ultrasonic guided waves in the multilayered structure.
System and method for shear wave elastography by transmitting ultrasound with subgroups of ultrasound transducer elements
Systems and methods for performing shear wave elastography using push and/or detection ultrasound beams that are generated by subsets of the available number of transducer elements in an ultrasound transducer. These techniques provide several advantages over currently available approaches to shear wave elastography, including the ability to use a standard, low frame rate ultrasound imaging system and the ability to measure shear wave speed throughout the entire field-of-view rather than only those regions where the push beams are not generated.
Method and device for detecting defects within a test object
A device and a method for detecting at least one defect in a test object (2). At least one test head (1) radiates an ultrasonic signal at different measuring points (MP) into the test object (2) with each point at an insonation or radiation angle (α) in order to ascertain multiple measurement data sets (MDS). The angle is constant for each data set (MDS). An analyzing unit (4) carries out an SAFT (Synthetic Aperture Focusing Technique) analysis for each ascertained measurement data set (MDS) using a common reconstruction grid (RG) inside the test object (2) in order to calculate an SAFT analysis result for each measurement data set (MDS). The analyzing unit (4) superimposes the calculated SAFT analysis results in order to calculate an orientation-independent defect display value (S.sub.RP) for each reconstruction point (RP) of the common reconstruction grid (RG).
