An optically transparent matrix including a molecule containing a hydroxyazobenzene group or its derivative embedded in the matrix. An optical system including the optically transparent matrix, an isomerizing light source, and means for measuring absorbance changes from the optically transparent matrix. A method for measuring the quantity of hydrogen bonding gaseous molecules.

TESTING METHOD TO REVEAL SWEAT TRANSFER FROM SKIN TO FABRICS

A method of assessing efficacy of an amine-free antiperspirant is provided. The method comprises (a) contacting a textile with skin having sweat, wherein the sweat is formed on the skin having the antiperspirant thereon, whereby the sweat is transferred from the skin onto the textile, (b) contacting the textile from step (a) with an effective amount of a solution for generating a purple color on the textile, wherein the solution comprises ninhydrin and a solvent, whereby a purple color is generated on the textile, and (c) determining an intensity of the purple color on the textile, wherein a high intensity of the purple color indicates a low efficacy of the antiperspirant.

THERMOPLASTIC FILMS AND BAGS WITH COLOR CHANGING INDICATORS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic film that includes a layer of thermoplastic material and a color indicator applied to the thermoplastic material. The color indicator can be configured to change color in response to a trigger. For example, the color indicator can change color (e.g., change from a first color to a second color) in response to a color change trigger, such as exposure to malodor particles, absorption of moisture, a length of time, or as a result of oxidation. In one or more embodiments, the thermoplastic film further includes an odor control component configured to mask, neutralize, or otherwise control malodors. The color indicator can change its color appearance as the odor control component performs to control any present malodors, thus signaling the performance of the odor control component.

DYE MIXTURE FOR DETERMINING THE READINESS FOR COVERING OF LEVELLING COMPOUNDS

The present invention relates to a dye mixture for determining the readiness for covering of levelling compounds, and also an application device which includes such a dye mixture. The present invention further relates to the use of the dye mixture for determining the readiness for covering of levelling compounds.

ICE DETECTION SYSTEMS FOR AIRCRAFT AND RELATED METHODS
20200079511 · 2020-03-12 ·

Ice detection systems for aircraft and related methods are disclosed. A disclosed example ice detection system includes a thermochromic device to sense a temperature of freestream air relative to a temperature threshold, and a hydrochromic device to sense an amount of moisture in the freestream air relative to a moisture threshold. a controller to detect an icing condition in response to the thermochromic device sensing a temperature that is less than or equal to the temperature threshold and the hydrochromic device sensing an amount moisture that exceeds the moisture threshold.

Liquid contact indicator

An electronic device having an indication member for determining liquid exposure in an electronic device is disclosed. The indication member may include ink and a layer covering the ink. The layer may include a liquid-permeable layer that allows liquid to pass through the layer and contact the ink. In this regard, at least some of the ink may rise through the layer and to a top surface of the indication member. Although the ink may be exposed at the top surface, in some cases, the ink is visible or detectable when exposed to light from an ultraviolet light source. Also, the top surface may include a pattern or other indicia that is also visible or detectable when exposed to the light source. When the indication member is exposed to liquid, the pattern may be altered or disturbed in a location corresponding to an exposed portion of the indication member.

HOT MELT WETNESS INDICATOR ADHESIVE AND PRODUCTION PROCESS THEREOF

The present invention relates to a hot melt wetness indicator adhesive for personal hygiene disposable articles, specifically, to a hot melt that does not cause skin irritation or skin allergies. The hot melt wetness indicator adhesive is comprised of a polymeric component, a resin component, a plasticizer component, a surfactant component, a pH indicator, and an antioxidant component.

Hydrochromic polydiacetylene composite composition, hydrochromic thin film using same, and use thereof

The present invention relates to a hydrochromic polydiacetylene composite composition, a hydrochromic thin film using same, and a use thereof, and more specifically, to a hydrochromic polydiacetylene composite composition reacting sensitively to moisture, providing the hydrochromic thin film using same, and to applying same to biorecognition or fingerprint recognition. According to the present invention, moisture secreted from a fingerprint or pores on the skin can be detected with high sensitivity. Thus, the position of pores unique to a fingerprint of an organism can be amplified and displayed through selective color change and fluorescent change patterns exhibited when moisture is absorbed.
