An absorbent article includes a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer and one absorbent core layer. The topsheet layer, absorbent core layer and backsheet layer each include a longitudinally directed side peripheral edge. The absorbent article further includes an aqueous medium-sensitive coating composition for triggered release of active ingredients from the absorbent article. The aqueous medium-sensitive coating composition is affixed to the absorbent article adjacent a longitudinally directed side peripheral edge. The coating composition includes a betaine ester or betaine ester derivative having a functional active group derived from a fragrance with a hydroxyl group, a color changing visual indicator chemistry, where the visual indicator chemistry is selected from at least one of the group of a pH indicator dye and pH adjuster, a thermochromic dye and a polarity-sensitive dye.

A composition, and methods of making and using such a composition, whereby the composition can include a printable ink formulation having a colorant which undergoes a visible color change upon exposure to a wetness threshold. The colorant can be highly resistant to leaching. Additionally, the colorant can be resistant to premature activation via ambient moisture or humidity.

The present disclosure relates to a thermoplastic film that includes a layer of thermoplastic material and an encapsulated odor control component. The encapsulated odor control component can include an odor-control active encapsulated within an odor-control encapsulant. Additionally, the encapsulated odor control component can be configured to release the odor-control active from the encapsulant when exposed to malodor particles. The thermoplastic film can further include a color indicator that changes color to indicate performance of the encapsulated odor control component. For example, the color indicator can change from a first color to a second color based, at least in part, on the release of the odor-control active.

An electronic device having an indication member for determining liquid exposure in an electronic device is disclosed. The indication member may include ink and a layer covering the ink. The layer may include a liquid-permeable layer that allows liquid to pass through the layer and contact the ink. In this regard, at least some of the ink may rise through the layer and to a top surface of the indication member. Although the ink may be exposed at the top surface, in some cases, the ink is visible or detectable when exposed to light from an ultraviolet light source. Also, the top surface may include a pattern or other indicia that is also visible or detectable when exposed to the light source. When the indication member is exposed to liquid, the pattern may be altered or disturbed in a location corresponding to an exposed portion of the indication member.

The present invention relates to a hydrochromic polydiacetylene composite composition, a hydrochromic thin film using same, and a use thereof, and more specifically, to a hydrochromic polydiacetylene composite composition reacting sensitively to moisture, providing the hydrochromic thin film using same, and to applying same to biorecognition or fingerprint recognition. According to the present invention, moisture secreted from a fingerprint or pores on the skin can be detected with high sensitivity. Thus, the position of pores unique to a fingerprint of an organism can be amplified and displayed through selective color change and fluorescent change patterns exhibited when moisture is absorbed.
