The present patent of invention relates to a reader device for biological samples used in the field of remote laboratory tests (TLR), for clinical diagnostic purposes, based on an optimized design constituted by a cowling (C) with inlet port (OE) and with switch (I); by a holding support (SS) containing a mirror (ES), two batteries (BT), two reading illumination arrays (BIL), operational status illumination arrays (BIS) and an elevator support (SE); by an elevator (EL); by an electronics board (PE) with energy loading circuit (PE-1), with supply circuit (PE-2), with processor (PE-3), with Bluetooth device (PE-4) and with position sensor (PE-5); and by a base (BA) with software that reads various types of biological samples, the present invention providing the advantages of: ease of use, optimized operating flows, ease of training, modularity, compactness, reduced size, portability, lightness of weight, ergonomic design, used-friendliness, enhanced practically and low cost
Molecular diagnostic assay system
Improved sub-assemblies and methods of control for use in a diagnostic assay system adapted to receive an assay cartridge are provided herein. Such sub-assemblies include: a brushless DC motor, a door opening/closing mechanism and cartridge loading mechanism, a syringe and valve drive mechanism assembly, a sonication horn, a thermal control device and optical detection/excitation device. Such systems can further include a communications unit configured to wirelessly communicate with a mobile device of a user so as to receive a user input relating to functionality of the system with respect to an assay cartridge received therein and relaying a diagnostic result relating to the assay cartridge to the mobile device.
METHOD AND APPARATUS TO MANIPULATE BIOLOGICAL SECTIONS
An automated tissue section slicing, staining, and imaging system sequentially adheres tissue sections to a continuous substrate such that the staining, imaging, and interpretation of the tissue sections are readily carried out at high speed under machine control.
Cassette for biomarker analysis of a milk sample
A cassette (130) configured to enable measurement of at least one biomarker value of a milk sample of an animal (100). The cassette (130) includes a tape distributing spool (131); a tape (170) with a plurality of dry sticks (180a, 180b, 180c), configured to indicate the biomarker value of the milk sample, and a top film (310) arranged to protect the dry sticks (180a, 180b, 180c) while rolled up on the tape distributing spool (131); a tape collecting spool (132), configured to collect used dry sticks (180a, 180b, 180c); and a top film reel (330), arranged to peel off and collect the top film (310) of the tape (170).
Integrated multiplex target analysis
This invention provides biochip cartridges and instrument devices for the detection and/or analysis of target analytes from patient samples.
LABORATORY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING INTERFERING SUBSTANCES CONTAINED IN TEST SAMPLES
A laboratory system and a method for separating interfering substances contained in test samples is presented. The laboratory system comprises separation vessels comprising solid surfaces and capturing molecules which are immobilized on the solid surfaces. The capturing molecules of the separation vessels are configured to bind interfering substances of laboratory tests of different analytical methods.
Method, system, and device for automating transfer of tape to microtome sections
A system and method for automated transfer of a tape segment onto the face of a tissue block to be thin sectioned by microtomy includes applying, to a carrier strip, a plurality of serially-spaced patches of sample tape having an adhesive outer surface, transporting the carrier strip along a path adjacent to and spaced from the exposed sample surface to position one of the patches of sample tape adjacent to and covering the exposed sample surface, adhering the one of the patches of sample tape to the exposed sample surface.

MEDICAL ANALYTE TESTING SYSTEM AND OPERATING METHOD THEREFOR
A method for operating a medical analyte testing system having a handheld meter, particularly, a glucose meter, and a test magazine is disclosed. In the disclosed method a replaceable test magazine including a plurality of test elements is provided in the handheld meter for conducting successive analyte tests. An auxiliary measuring unit of the handheld meter measures at various points of time at least one ambient parameter, including temperature or humidity. The method checks for a threshold violation by comparing the measured ambient parameter with a preset threshold. The preset threshold is lowered after an initial period of use of the test magazine, and a use-up period is adjusted based on the check for a threshold violation.
