AUTOMATED SPECIMEN DEPOSITION SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
Systems and methods that enable automated spray deposition of biological specimens carried on microscope slides are described herein. Aspects of the technology are directed, for example, to automated specimen deposition systems and methods of generating high-quality, reproducible specimen-bearing microscope slides in automated processing systems.
AUTOMATED RAPID ON-SITE EVALUATION MACHINE AND STAIN
An automated rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) system for smearing, staining and capturing a digital image of a biological sample such as a fine needle aspiration (FNA) sample is presented. The system comprises a housing with a user interface monitor or screen, a smearing system, a staining system, and an image capture system. The housing can further include a receiver for a biological sample that can direct the sample to a sample slide. The smearing system is configured to smear the sample on the sample slide. The staining system is configured to stain the sample. The image capture system is configured to capture a magnified image of the sample and store the digital image in the housing or remotely. The digital images may be available immediately for local or off-site review. The wait time between staining the sample and image capture can be less than 60 seconds.
Flow cells and methods related to same
Flow cells and corresponding methods are provided. The flow cells may include a support frame with top and back sides, and at least one cavity extending from the top side. The flow cells may include at least one light detection device with an active area disposed within the at least one cavity. The flow cells may include a support material disposed within the at least one cavity between the support frame and the periphery of the at least one light detection device coupling them together. The flow cells may include a lid extending over the at least one light detection device and coupled to the support frame about the periphery of the at least one light detection device. The lid and at least a top surface of the at least one light detection device form a flow channel therebetween.
Process record slide and method of using the same for loose cells
The present application relates to process record slide and method of using the same for loose cells. A single to multi-region slide wherein each region contains one to four control targets and is suitable for processing through Special Stains, IHC or CC, and others. Each region may be bonded by a hydrophobic barrier to form a well. The slide has an adhesive coating suitable for capturing loose cells and cell debris.
ASSAY SAMPLE CARDS AND ADAPTORS AND USE OF THE SAME (II)
A device for sample analysis, including: a first plate, a second plate, spacers, a hinge, and an adhesive, wherein the first plate and the second plate are connected by the hinge and movable relative to each other around the axis of the hinge into different configurations, including an open configuration and a closed configuration as disclosed herein. Also disclosed are a kit, a system, and a method including the device.
Exfoliative Cell Processing Device
The present invention relates to a technology related to an exfoliative cell processing device which obtains exfoliative cells out of a vial which has contained specimen of exfoliative cells (e.g., exfoliative cells and liquid medium) of a human body and then thinly smears the exfoliative cells on a cell smear slide. More specifically, the present invention relates to a technology for vertically entering the upper entrance of a vial which containing a specimen so as to extract a part of the specimen from the vial and then for thinly smearing the part of specimen on a cell smear slide which being disposed adjacent to the vial. The present invention has an advantage in that exfoliative cells may be attached in a thinly spread state on the lower surface of the specimen collector since the process of suctioning specimen from the vial.
Smear preparing apparatus and smear preparing method
A smear preparing apparatus according to one or more embodiments includes: a first transporter that transports a storage tool in a first direction, the storage tool capable of holding microscope slides side by side in the first direction; a slide transfer unit that transfers a microscope slide having a stained sample to the storage tool transported by the first transporter; and a second transporter that is adjacent to the first transporter and that transports the storage tool housing the microscope slide transferred by the slide transfer unit, in a second direction opposite to the first direction.
Rapid analysis for cyanobacterial toxins
Method and compositions using transition metal salts and/or ammonium chloride to liberate toxins and other molecules from cyanobacteria, useful for assaying for total cyanobacterial toxins in lakes, reservoirs and other waters.
SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COMPUTERIZED AUTOMATIC DIAGNOSIS
A computerized automated diagnostic system including a cartridge configured to contain reagents for carrying out a diagnostic biological process and to receive a biological sample to be tested using the reagents and an instrument operative to interact with the cartridge to carry out multiple steps in the diagnostic biological process, the cartridge having multiple operative states including a non-functionalized state in which the cartridge does not include the reagents and does not include the biological sample, a partially functionalized state in which the cartridge does include the reagents and does include the biological sample and in which a carbon array assembly is mounted onto the cartridge and forms part of the cartridge and a fully functionalized state upon insertion of the cartridge, onto which the carbon array assembly is mounted, into clamped engagement with the instrument.
