System and method for cell and tissue preparation
Manufacturing system and method for creating multiple tissue constructs from cells. System can include a thaw subsystem (if the cells are provided in a frozen state), an expansion subsystem, a concentration subsystem, and a tissue maturation subsystem. Each of these subsystems is modular and can be reconfigured, and the process can be repeated depending on the specific tissue process being implemented. Multiple tissue types can be combined in multiple bioreactors. The activities of multiple bioreactors can be coordinated and controlled in an automated manner by a supervisor controller. The supervisor controller can receive user input at the start of the process, and can manage the process henceforth, alerting the user if user actions are required.
Reaction receptacle
A receptacle includes an upper portion having a cylindrical portion and an open end and a lower portion depending from the upper portion, where the lower portion is tapered and has a closed bottom end. The receptacle may include a radially-extending annular ring with a flat or sloped bottom surface and disposed on an outer surface of the receptacle at a transition between the upper portion and the lower portion and/or a radially-projecting lip circumscribing the open end, which may be configured for inter-locking engagement with a mated cap inserted into the open end of the upper portion. Embodiments may include one or more longitudinally-oriented grooves formed in an inner surface of the upper portion. The receptacle may be a unitary plastic structure.
Cap and induction seal designed to be opened by piercing in a diagnostic analyzer
Embodiments are directed to a removable cap with a top hole and a seal with a heat induction closure for sealing an opening of a container. Advantageously, the cap and the seal do not need to be removed for a probe to access contents of the container, when used in a diagnostic analyzer, thereby eliminating operator steps of cap removal and seal peeling/perforation. Automated opening of the cap and seal combination is provided by puncturing the seal. The seal retains its opened shape required for unobstructed, non-contact probe access to contents of the container. The seal is comprised of three layers: a first polymer sealing layer capable of being heat-sealed to a container; an aluminum foil layer on top of the first polymer sealing layer, configured to heat seal the first layer by inductive heating; and a second polymer layer on top of the aluminum foil layer for protection.
Reagent container, reagent suction method and sample measuring apparatus
The present invention is directed to suppress adhesion of a reagent to the periphery of an opening of a reagent container. The reagent container is a reagent container used for a sample measuring apparatus having a suction tube for suctioning a reagent, and includes a reagent, an upper surface part having an opening, a side surface part, and a bottom surface part that defines an internal space in which the reagent is stored, and a suction tube introducing part extending from the upper surface part to a position above the liquid level of the reagent to introduce the suction tube received from above the opening into the internal space.
Sample injection device and method of adjusting sample injection device
This sample injection device is provided with a plunger drive unit for driving a plunger by a pulse motor, an encoder for detecting an operating position of the pulse motor, and a control unit for adjusting a reference position of the tip end of the plunger with respect to the syringe based on the operating position detected by the encoder when the tip end of the plunger is brought into contact with the end portion in the syringe on the tip end side.
CAP HAVING A RIBBED INNER SURFACE
A cap having a lower portion, an upper portion with an opening formed therein, and a plurality of longitudinally oriented ribs disposed on an inner surface of the cap. The inner surface of the cap is defined by the opening formed in the upper portion of the cap, and each rib is associated with a concave recess disposed directly opposite the rib on an outer surface of the upper portion of the cap. The recess extends along at least part of the length of the rib.
Portable organic molecular sensing device and related systems and methods
A portable device for detecting an analyte associated with a target organic molecule in a liquid and/or solid substance. The device includes a test chamber, a probe, and a sensor. The test chamber contains a liquid volume of test solution including an analytical reagent selected to react with the analyte. The test chamber is sealed by a pierceable membrane wall. The probe is removably positionable to pierce the membrane wall to deposit a sample in the test chamber to form a test mixture with the test solution. The sensor is positioned to detect one or more characteristics of the test mixture in the test chamber indicative of a reaction between the analyte and the analytical reagent.
Device for shaking and sampling biological liquids
A device for shaking and sampling biological liquids that is able to take a sample of a biological liquid in a tube including a shaker designed to mix a rack holding one or more tubes by performing a succession of tilting movements between two shaking positions. The shaker is also arranged to tilt beyond the shaking position furthest away from the insertion position of a rack to discharge same by gravity.
PIERCING CONDITION SELECTION METHOD
An automatic analysis apparatus includes a rack identification information reading unit for reading rack identification information assigned to a specimen rack, a CTS drive unit for executing a piercing operation of piercing the stopper of the specimen vessel having the stopper at a specimen suction position by a piercer and sucking a specimen in the specimen vessel having the stopper by a specimen suction nozzle passing through a hole of the stopper formed by the piercer, a piercing condition setting unit for setting a piercing operation condition by the piercer for the specimen vessel having the stopper loaded in the specimen rack based on the rack identification information read by the rack identification information reading unit, and a control unit for controlling an operation of the CTS drive unit based on a set piercing operation condition.
