SIDE SURFACE INSPECTION DEVICE OF CYLINDRICAL BATTERY
A side surface inspection device is provided for a cylindrical battery having a side surface defining first to fourth areas. The side surface inspection device includes a first light to emit light toward the side surface of the cylindrical battery; a plurality of mirrors having a first to fourth mirrors that each reflect light emitted from the first light to be incident on each of the first to fourth areas, respectively, of the cylindrical battery, and are configured to reflect light reflected by each of the first to fourth areas, respectively, of the cylindrical battery; and a camera to receive the light reflected by each of the plurality of mirrors and configured to form an image including images of the first to fourth areas of the cylindrical battery.
FLUID BREAKDOWN DETECTION SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES USEFUL FOR LIQUID IMMERSION COOLING
A two-phase liquid immersion cooling system is described in which heat generating computer components cause a dielectric fluid in its liquid phase to vaporize. Advantageously, a pH indicator is employed to monitor the dielectric fluid.
System for the determination of retroreflectivity of road signs and other reflective objects
A system for the determination of retroreflectivity values for reflective surfaces disposed along a roadway repeatedly illuminates an area along the roadway that includes at least one reflective surface using a light source. Multiple light intensity values are measured over a field of view which includes at least a portion of the area illuminated by the light source. A computer processing system is used to identifying a portion of the light intensity values associated with a reflective surface and analyze the portion of the light intensity values to determine at least one retroreflectivity value for that reflective surface.
System and assessment of reflective objects along a roadway
A system for classifying different types of sheeting materials of road signs depicted in a videostream compares estimated retroreflectivity values against known minimum retroreflectivity values for each of a plurality of colors. Once a road sign has been identified in the videostream, the frames associated with that road sign are analyzed to determine each of a plurality of colors present on the road sign. An estimated retroreflectivity for each of the plurality of colors present on the road sign is then determined. By comparing the estimated retroreflectivity for each of the plurality of colors against known minimum retroreflectivity values for the corresponding color for different types of sheeting materials, an accurate determination of the classification of the sheeting material of the road sign is established. Preferably, certain conditions of gross failure of the sheeting material are filtered out before classification of the sheeting material is determined.
Inspection system
A means is provided for enabling easy identification of baggage in which one or more hazardous item is detected. An inspection system is equipped with a first conveyor, inspection device, cover, camera, controller and display. The first conveyor transports baggage to the inspection device. The inspection device captures transmitted-light images of the baggage using light that transmits through the baggage. The cover covers a transport path of the baggage to prevent a hand of a visitor from being inserted into an image shooting area where electromagnetic waves that are harmful to the human body are irradiated. The camera captures visible-light images of the baggage using visible light. The controller controls the first conveyor, inspection device, camera and display. Under control of the controller, the display simultaneously displays a transmitted-light image and a visible-light image of the baggage.
360° MANHOLE INSPECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for automatically obtaining 360 manhole video data, said system comprising a housing; a 360 video camera in said housing, one or more lights disposed in said housing, a digital processor disposed in said housing, a distance finder disposed in said housing, and digital storage disposed in said housing for storing digital data from said 360 video camera, wherein said digital processor is configured to automatically obtain manhole video data by commencing acquisition of video data once said housing is maintained at the same vertical position from the bottom of the manhole, as determined by said distance finder, for a predetermined time, once said digital processor commences acquiring video data, prompting a user to begin lowering said housing; stopping acquisition of said video data once said housing is a predetermined distance from said bottom of the manhole, and prompting said user to withdraw the housing from said manhole.
