Single piece droplet generation and injection device for serial crystallography
A single-piece hybrid droplet generator and nozzle component for serial crystallography. The single-piece hybrid droplet generator component including an internally-formed droplet-generation channel, an internally-formed sample channel, a nozzle, and a pair of electrode chambers. The droplet-generation channel extends from a first fluid inlet opening to the nozzle. The sample channel extends from a second fluid inlet opening to the droplet-generation channel and joins the droplet-generation channel at a junction. The nozzle is configured to eject a stream of segmented aqueous droplets in a carrier fluid from the droplet-generation channel through a nozzle opening of the single-piece component. The pair of electrode chambers are positioned adjacent to the droplet-generation channel near the junction between the droplet-generation channel and the sample channel. The timing of sample droplets in the stream of fluid ejected through the nozzle is controlled by applying a triggering signal to electrodes positioned in the electrode chambers of the single-piece component.
Device for closing the input opening in the sample chamber in an x-ray fluorescence spectrometer
A closure device for the gas-tight closing of the input opening of a sample chamber of an x-ray analysis apparatus includes a slider having a closure plate and a carriage that is configured to be displaced in a lateral movement over the input opening on a linear guide arranged on a baseplate connected fixedly to the sample chamber. The closure plate is connected in an articulated manner to the carriage via deflecting elements that, upon butting against end stops connected rigidly to the baseplate, deflect the lateral movement of the carriage into a movement perpendicular thereto to press the closure plate over the input opening. A drive motor connected to the carriage via a drive means displaces the slider to provide the lateral movement on the linear guide.
MANIPULATOR HEAD AND VACUUM SYSTEM
The invention relates to pumping liquids (18) in a vacuum system at a negative pressure, in particular at an absolute pressure of below 600 mbar. For this purpose, a manipulator head (10) is provided for use in a vacuum housing at a negative pressure. The manipulator head (10) contains a liquid cell (12) and a liquid pump (14). The liquid cell (12) has a liquid cell outlet (22) and an interior space (16) that is designed for negative pressure and designed to receive a liquid (18). The liquid pump (14) has a liquid pumping region (26) which is fluidically connected to the fluid cell outlet (22) and is designed to pump the liquid (18) out of the liquid pumping region (26) when there is negative pressure in the interior space (16) of the liquid cell (12). A distance (d) between the liquid cell outlet (22) of the liquid cell (12) and the liquid pumping region (26) of the liquid pump (14) is selected such that at an absolute pressure of below 600 mbar in the interior space (16) of the liquid cell (12), the liquid (18) extends at least as far as the liquid pumping region (26) of the liquid pump (14), so that the latter can pump the liquid (18). This makes it possible to construct a compact vacuum system that can circulate liquid (18) at an absolute pressure of below 600 mbar and in particular can also be drained.
Method of using a dissolvable deployment device for the transfer of ultrahigh resolution nanoparticle tracer additives into a wellbore
A method of using a tracer additive in a wellbore that includes using a deployment device, the device configured with a hollowed region, and disposing a tracer additive into the hollowed region. The method includes sending or providing the deployment device into the wellbore in manner whereby the deployment device is positioned at a desired location, and sufficiently dissolving the deployment device so that the tracer additive comes into contact with a target formation fluid. The tracer additive has a first composition, and is in a solid powder form.
Tray insert for screening tray
An article for screening includes a top surface and a bottom surface. A forward wall, an aft wall and side walls each extend between the top surface and the bottom surface. A longitudinal recess extends at least partially across the top surface has a first lateral wall extending away from the top surface toward the bottom surface and meeting with a base wall at a predetermined angle therebetween for positioning of a liquid material relative to the first lateral wall and the base wall. The predetermined angle is for restricting data in a data range provided by a scanning operation of the liquid material to data provided within the predetermined angle between the first lateral wall and the base wall of the recess. The liquid material may be contained within a container positioned within the recess. Preferably, the article is an insert for a security screening tray.
METHOD OF USING TRACERS FOR PROVIDING A DATA SET RELATED TO WELLBORE PERFORMANCE
A method of using a tracer in a wellbore that includes disposing the tracer into the wellbore so that the tracer comes into contact with a target formation. Upon contacting the target formation for an amount of time, returning a remnant fluid that includes at least a portion of the tracer to a surface for testing. The tracer has a first composition, and in its original state is a solid non-magnetic powder.
SAMPLE POUCH CELL AND X-RAY FLUORESCENCE ANALYSIS METHOD
Provided are an X-ray fluorescence analysis method and a sample pouch cell that enable measurement of a liquid sample, and radiation of X-rays while avoiding air bubbles formed during measurement. The sample pouch cell is a sample pouch cell for a liquid sample, which is to be arranged upright in a side-irradiation type X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. The sample pouch cell includes: a first resin film, which is arranged on a side to which primary X-rays are radiated; and a second resin film bonded to the first resin film in a region excluding an inlet for the liquid sample.
