Systems and methods for detecting water/product interfaces during food processing
09683978 · 2017-06-20 · ·

The present disclosure provides systems and methods for manufacturing food products. In a general embodiment, systems for manufacturing a food product include at least one heat exchanger, at least one food product tank, at least one conduit downstream of the food product tank for flow of the food product, and a flow detection device coupled to an exterior of the conduit. The flow detection device includes a processor and a computer readable medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to perform a spread spectrum analysis of the flow of the food product through the conduit. Methods for manufacturing food products are also provided.

Assessment Of Blood Coagulation Using An Acoustic Radiation Force Based Optical Coherence Elastography (ARF-OCE)

An apparatus and method of using an optical coherence elastography (OCE) under acoustic radiation force (ARF) excitation includes the steps of inducing an excitation wave in a blood sample by use of an ultrasound beam from an ultrasonic transducer; measuring an elastic property of the blood sample by use of an optical coherence tomography (OCT) beam transverse to the ultrasound beam to dynamically measure the elastic property of the blood sample during coagulation and assessing the clot formation/dissolution kinetics and strength.

An ultrasonic probe, an ultrasonic imaging apparatus including the same, and a method for controlling the same are disclosed, which relate to a method for changing a pulse signal received by an ultrasonic probe by controlling a switching element mounted to an ultrasonic probe during pulse inversion harmonic imaging. The ultrasonic probe includes: a transducer array configured to transmit and receive an ultrasonic signal; a printed circuit board (PCB) electrically connected to the transducer array so as to transmit a pulse signal received from a main body of an ultrasonic imaging apparatus to the transducer array; and a switching circuit configured to change a waveform of the pulse signal received by the PCB and transmitted to the transducer array.

METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING AND/OR MONITORING THE STATE OF AN EXTRACORPOREAL FLUID OR FLUID FLOW BY MEANS OF ULTRASOUND

The invention relates to a method for establishing and/or monitoring foreign structures in an extracorporeal fluid or in a fluid flow, in particular in blood or a bloodstream, wherein the fluid is monitored by means of ultrasound. The method according to the invention is characterized in that the features of the fluid state established by means of the ultrasound monitoring are processed by means of a multi-criteria ultrasonic analysis. The invention furthermore relates to a device for performing this method and the use of this device.

System and method for measuring pressure using ultrasound

Pressure and pressure or displacement variations are measured in a media, such as a fluid (e.g., air, other gases, or other liquid fluids), using ultrasound. The pressure may be sound pressure (e.g., acoustic pressure), pseudo-sound pressure (e.g., hydrodynamic pressure), displacement, and so on. By measuring pressure or displacement, the flow in the fluid can be measured, estimated, parameterized, or otherwise quantified. In this way, measurements of pressure (e.g., acoustic pressure, hydrodynamic pressure) or displacement can be correlated or otherwise converted into a measurement of flow. The pressure measurements can also be converted into audio signals that can be played back to a user.
