LASER ULTRASONIC IMAGING SYSTEM FOR A ROTATING OBJECT AND METHOD THEREOF
Provided is a structural health monitoring system of a rotating object such as a turbine blade, which gives easy and intuitive information to field managers on the damage location and the damage size of the rotating object by computing and visualizing correlations between damage and propagating ultrasonic wave. The structural health monitoring system for a rotating object comprises an ultrasonic generation system which generates an ultrasonic signal by irradiating a pulse laser beam to a point of the rotating object, a pulse laser control system which adjusts the irradiating time of the pulse laser beam, an ultrasonic measurement system which measures a generated ultrasonic signal at a point of the rotating object away from the point irradiated by the pulse laser beam and a damage detection system which provides information of damage existence, damage location and damage severity by visualization of monitored ultrasonic signals.
UTILITY POLE MONITORING SYSTEM AND DEVICE
A utility pole monitoring device comprising a body adapted to couple to a utility pole, a vibration device arranged on the body and configured to generate vibrations on or in the utility pole, a sensor arranged on the body for measuring the vibrations within the utility pole generated by the vibration device, and a controller for providing an initialization signal to the vibration device, and receive measured data from the sensor.
Photoacoustic measurement device and probe for photoacoustic measurement device
An object of the invention is to reduce the size of a probe for a photoacoustic measurement device. A light guide 71 is arranged such that one of a two side surfaces 71a is closer to a probe axis C which faces a subject than the other side surface and a light emission end surface 71c is closer to the probe axis C than a light incident end surface 71b when the probe is used. When a refractive index of the light guide 71 with respect to the light is n1 and a refractive index of a medium around the light guide with respect to the light during photoacoustic measurement is n2 (n2<n1), the light emission end surface 71c is obliquely formed such that an angle α[°] (where 90°−arcsin(n2/n1)<α<90°) is formed between the light emission end surface 71c and the side surface 71a.
Vibration detection apparatus and vibration detection method
A vibration detection apparatus includes a ring laser resonator, a fiber Bragg grating and a detection system. The ring laser resonator generates a laser beam propagating a ring shaped optical path. The fiber Bragg grating is disposed in the ring laser resonator such that the laser beam enters the grating, and has a transmittance distribution characteristic of transmitted light in a wavelength direction, which changes in accordance with vibration of an object. The detection system detects the vibration based on the transmitted light through the fiber Bragg grating.
