DIRECTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE DETECTOR
20200379001 · 2020-12-03 ·

Methods and apparatuses for indicating the presence of a threshold directional differential pressure between separated adjacent spaces. A conduit contains at least one movable element that indicates whether the pressure difference between the two spaces is at least as high as a threshold pressure difference. The apparatus is adjustable to have different threshold set points by adjusting the pivot arm inclination relative to a horizontal plane.

An Airflow Measurement Device
20200249252 · 2020-08-06 ·

An airflow measurement device for use in measurement of dynamic pressure of an airflow comprises a channel having an inlet region for receiving the airflow, the inlet region being shaped to direct received airflow in a longitudinal direction with respect to the channel. The airflow measurement device further comprises one or more pressure measurement orifices positioned for measurement of pressure of at least part of the airflow after the airflow has been directed, by the inlet region of the channel, in a longitudinal direction with respect to the channel; and a plurality of further pressure measurement orifices located on an internal surface of the inlet region of the channel, wherein the plurality of further pressure measurement orifices are positioned for measurement of a direction of the received airflow.

MONITORING DEVICE WITH MODULAR ASSEMBLY
20200200790 · 2020-06-25 ·

A monitoring device includes a cavity assembly with a plurality of cavities. Openings of the plurality of cavities are distributed about a flow-facing surface of the cavity assembly. A gas pressure sensor is disposed within each of the cavities, and is configured to measure an absolute pressure of a gas flow which flows past the monitoring device. Gas pressure measurements from the pressure sensors may be used to determine a flow speed and a flow direction of the gas flow. More specifically, a mapping may be used to map the logarithm of the difference between the maximum and minimum pressures to a flow speed. Further, a lookup table may be used to map a pattern of pressure measurements to a flow direction.

Methods and apparatuses for indicating the presence of a directional differential pressure between separated adjacent spaces are provided. A differential pressure set point indicator with integral calibration sensing the earth's gravitational horizontal or vertical planes may be configured to correlate multiple potential angles of inclination of a conduit located on one side of a wall to respective threshold differential pressures between two spaces which generate net flow of fluid sufficient to cause a lightweight ball to move from one region of the conduit to an opposing region. The inclination of the conduit may be adjusted through a rotatable configuration similar to a turret-type arrangement.

Systems and methods are provided that that may be implemented to detect impeded flow of cooling air within a chassis enclosure of an information handling system based on sensed air pressure and/or air pressure changes occurring within the cooling air flow while the system is actively running. The systems and methods may be further implemented to take one or more thermal management actions based on sensed air pressure within the chassis enclosure together with other optional sensed parameters (e.g., such as sensed temperatures and/or sensed user operating mode based on accelerometer and/or gyroscope sensor input).
