Further, the meter collar includes a third connection path within the meter collar to form an electrical connection between the DER meter and output voltage wirings of the DER device. Furthermore, the meter collar includes mating connectors electrically connected to a first end of a corresponding connection path to accept mating connectors of the DER meter. The meter collar also includes mating connectors electrically connected to a second end of the corresponding connection path to mate with the line voltage wirings, the neutral wires, and the output voltage wirings.

An electrical meter quick connect device has a housing with open faces. A first face is configured with connectors to mate to a electrical service panel in a meter connection manner, and a second face is configured with connectors to mate to a meter in an electrical service panel connection manner. First and second set of lines are within the housing, connected from the first face to the second face. A breaker switch is on the housing and coupled to at least one of the first and second set of lines. A third set of lines is connected to the breaker switch and exits a side of the housing, the third set including a ground line. An electrical vehicle charging line is coupled to the third set of lines. The device can be inserted between a meter and electrical service panel to provide an electric vehicle power connection.

Load shed system

A load shed module configured to be connected in series between a power supply and a load is disclosed. A separate load shed module is connected in series between each load and the power supply. The load shed module determines the frequency of the voltage supplied from the power supply. Based on the frequency, the load shed module determines if utility power is connected or if a generator is connected. If the generator is connected and the frequency of the voltage goes outside of a desired operating range for a preset time, the load shed module disconnects the load from the power supply. Each load shed module includes a priority setting and reconnects its corresponding load after a predetermined time corresponding to the priority setting.
