A wire wound resistor arrangement including a plurality of wire wound resistors electrically connected in a series connection, a first terminal disposed at a first end of the series connection of wire wound resistors, and a second terminal disposed at a second end of the series connection of wire wound resistors. The wire wound resistors are arranged in a polygonal shape having at least three vertices the first terminal and the second terminal are disposed at one of the vertices.

The first and second centers of gravity are respectively in first and second planes, wherein the first plane intersects with the second plane in a common intersection line in the second direction. The z direction and the y direction are orthogonal. The sensor has measurer configured to measure current through the first and second winding.

The present invention provides a trip control circuit for a circuit breaker capable of breaking a circuit when a fault current occurs due to a DC current component, as well as an AC current. The trip control circuit comprises a current transformer that has a core allowing a circuit to pass through and a secondary coil for detecting a current flowing on the circuit and providing a current detection signal; an oscillation circuit section that configured to apply an electrical signal to the secondary coil to increase a slope of a hysteresis loop of the current transformer to allow the secondary coil to detect a DC current and an AC current; and a trip determining circuit section that configured to compare a current value indicated by the current detection signal with a predetermined reference current value.

According to one aspect, embodiments of the invention provide a current monitoring device comprising a current transformer configured to be removeably coupled to a power line and to generate a reference signal having a level related to a current level of the power line, a sensor circuit connected to the current transformer and configured to convert the reference signal to a measurement signal, a flexible cable having a first end and a second end, the first end coupled to the sensor circuit, and a connection portion coupled to the second end of the flexible cable and configured to be removeably coupled to a communications bus, wherein the sensor circuit is further configured to provide the measurement signal to the communication bus via the flexible cable and the connection portion.

The primary conductor bar has connection terminal ends extending outside of the housing configured for connection to an external primary conductor. The primary conductor bar has a core passage section comprising a fuse portion configured for interruption of the primary conductor if a predefined electrical current is exceeded. The core passage section has a reduced width (W1) in comparison to the connection terminal ends extending outside of the housing thereby providing indents within which at least a portion of the magnetic core is positioned such that a central passage of the magnetic core has a width (W3) less than the width (W2) of the primary conductor connection ends.
