A current measurement circuit is disclosed. The current measurement circuit includes first and second circuit branches coupled to a circuit node through which current is to be measured. During a first period, the first circuit branch converts the current into a first voltage. During a second period, the second circuit branch converter the current into a second voltage. An analog-to-digital converter is configured to convert the first and second voltages into digital values indicative of the measured current. A control circuit is configured to alternately select one of the first and second branches during the generation of the digital values.

Wireless current sensor

The present disclosure pertains to systems and methods for measuring electrical parameters in an electric power system. In one embodiment, a system may include a line-mounted wireless current sensor comprising a current monitoring subsystem to generate a current measurement of an alternating current flow through an electrical conductor. The line-mounted wireless current sensor may harvest power from the electrical conductor. A processing subsystem may generate a message comprising the current measurement, and the message may be transmitted at a synchronization point using a wireless communication subsystem. An intelligent electronic device (IED) may receive the message. The IED may further generate a voltage and generate a phasor based on the current measurement and the voltage measurement. A control action subsystem may implement a control action (e.g., selectively connecting or disconnecting a capacitor bank) based on the phasor.

Wireless current sensor

The present disclosure pertains to systems and methods for measuring electrical parameters in an electric power system. An electrical testing device includes a housing having a base and a cover. The base and the cover define a cavity. The electrical testing device includes an input connector and a plurality of output connectors in electrical communication with the input connector. A fuse is in electrical communication with the input connector and the plurality of output connectors. The input connector and each output connector of the plurality of output connectors is adapted to connect to an interchangeable test lead. The input connector and each output connector of the plurality of output connectors is in electrical communication with an activation mechanism.

Differential current sensor

Methods and apparatus for measuring a current difference between at least two current traces in a circuit board. Each wire or trace generates a magnetic field which may then be measured by at least one magnetic field sensing element positioned on an integrated circuit, such as a current sensor integrated circuit or a differential magnetic field sensor integrated circuit. An output disconnect signal may be provided from the current sensor or differential magnetic field sensing integrated circuit to indicate that a current difference above a predetermined threshold exists in the two or more current traces.

Differential current sensor

Methods and apparatus for measuring a current difference between at least two current traces in a circuit board. Each wire or trace generates a magnetic field which may then be measured by at least one magnetic field sensing element positioned on an integrated circuit, such as a current sensor integrated circuit or a differential magnetic field sensor integrated circuit. An output disconnect signal may be provided from the current sensor or differential magnetic field sensing integrated circuit to indicate that a current difference above a predetermined threshold exists in the two or more current traces.

Current sensor

A current sensor is configured to detect a current flowing through an electrical conductor. The current sensor includes a core and a coil wound around the core. The core has a hollow therein configured to allow the electrical conductor to pass through the hollow. The core substantially has a C-shape having a gap connected to the hollow. The core has a pair of end surfaces facing each other in a facing direction across the gap. The core includes plural split cores joined to one another. Each pair of split cores of the plural split cores adjacent to each other have respective joining surfaces joined to each other. The respective joining surfaces of the each pair of split cores being parallel to the facing direction. This current sensor has a desired sensitivity characteristic.
