Voltage sensing glove assembly
11187732 · 2021-11-30 ·

A voltage sensing glove assembly includes a glove that is wearable on a user's hand. The glove is comprised of an electrically insulating material to facilitate the user to grasp exposed electrical wires without risk of electrical shock. A plurality of voltage sensors is each coupled to the glove and each of the voltage sensors is in electrical communication with the exposed electrical wires when the user grasps the exposed electrical wires. Respective ones of the voltage sensors are turned on when the voltage sensors senses electrical voltage in any of the exposed electrical wires. An alert unit is coupled to the glove and the alert unit is in electrical communication with each of the voltage sensors. The alert unit emits an alert when any of the voltage sensors is turned on to alert the user that electrical voltage has been sensed in the exposed electrical wires.

A method for verifying that a disconnect is open includes providing a disconnect verification unit electrically connected to a load side of a disconnect to be verified, having the disconnect verification unit determine whether the contact for each phase of the disconnect is open, having the disconnect verification unit determine whether the leads are connected to the load side of the disconnect; and sending a signal to a user interface of a status of the disconnect.

Di-circuit breaker device and operating method for detecting a voltage on a pen conductor
11228175 · 2022-01-18 · ·

A DI-circuit breaker device includes a summation current converter for detecting fault currents in a phase conductor and a neutral conductor, and a detection device for detecting fault states of a protective ground conductor. The detection device detects the presence of a phase voltage on the protective ground conductor as a fault state. The detection device has a capacitive sensor which, when touched by a user, forms an electric capacitor with an impedance relative to ground potential. The detection device further has evaluating electronics adapted to determine a phase position by connecting the sensor to the phase conductor and, separately therefrom, to the neutral conductor. The evaluating electronics determine the absence of a phase voltage on the protective ground conductor when there is no voltage between the neutral conductor and the protective ground conductor when phase is present at the phase conductor. Further, a corresponding operating method is described.

PROTECTIVE SHIELD FOR USE WITH A STAPLE GUN

A staple gun and a method of using the same. A stapling mechanism in the housing is activated to deliver a staple through an aperture in a housing wall and drive the staple into a surface around a stack of one or more electric cables. The gun includes a reciprocating cable guide for centering the gun on the stack of cables and closing a safety switch to permit the gun's trigger to be activated. A spacer extending outwardly from the housing wall rests on the upper surface of the cable stack. The spacer and a bumper that engages a hammer of the stapling mechanism provide for automatic depth adjustment when driving the staple into the surface. A reciprocating cable guard extending outwardly from the housing wall is positioned between the stack of cables and the staple to aid in preventing the staple from piercing the cable.
