An overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector includes: at least one current sensor for picking up a current signal which has a predeterminable time resolution in at least one electrical current path; and at least one evaluation unit. The at least one evaluation unit: determines a first point in time of a predeterminable steep increase in the current signal, forms a temporal integral of current values of the current signal from the first point in time to a second point in time, compares a pair of values, including a relevant value of the integral and the relevant value of the current signal, with at least one predeterminable limiting condition at predeterminable temporal intervals substantially continuously, and emits an overcurrent and/or short-circuit signal to an outlet of the overcurrent and/or short-circuit detector if the pair of values exceeds a limiting condition.
Voltage spike detector and system for detecting voltage spikes in semiconductor devices
Technologies and methods for detecting voltage spikes on a semiconductor device include detecting a voltage spike in a first analog signal from a semiconductor device based on a comparison of the first analog signal and a first voltage threshold, and converting the first analog signal to a digital signal with a first pulse representing the voltage spike, and transforming the first pulse to a stretched pulse defining a greater width than the first pulse. More specific embodiments include receiving a second analog signal from a first pin on the semiconductor device during a capture time period, receiving a reference analog signal from a reference pin on the semiconductor device during the capture time period, and prior to detecting the voltage spike, generating the first analog signal by computing a difference between the second analog signal and the reference analog signal.
Current value determination device, controller, electric compressor, current value determination method, and control method
A current value determination device provided with: a capacitor current computation unit for computing the capacitor current of a capacitor included in a high-voltage circuit that drives a motor, on the basis of the input voltage of an inverter included in the high-voltage circuit and the revolution speed of the motor; and a capacitor current determination unit for determining the value of capacitor current on the basis of the input voltage of the inverter, the revolution speed of the motor, the capacitor current computed by the capacitor current computation unit, and a prescribed model for determination.
Energization control device and image forming apparatus
An energization control device includes a voltage detection unit, a control portion, and an energization switching unit. The control portion to which the first detection signal and the second detection signal are input from the voltage detection unit is configured to output a first energization signal if the first detection signal is input and output a second energization signal if the second detection signal is input. The control portion is configured to obtain a correction value based on a difference between a first period in which the first detection signal is input to the control portion and a second period in which the second detection signal is input to the control portion and to correct a timing of switching between the first energization signal and the second energization signal with the correction value.
Flyback power converter and secondary side controller circuit and control method thereof
A flyback power converter includes a primary side controller circuit for controlling a primary side switch; and a secondary side controller circuit for generating an SR (Synchronous Rectification) signal to control an SR switch. The SR signal includes an SR pulse and a ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) pulse. The SR pulse controls the SR switch for synchronous rectification at the secondary side. The secondary side controller circuit samples and holds a voltage at a first end of the SR switch as a first voltage at a timing between the end of the ZVS pulse and the beginning of the SR pulse, and determines a length of the ZVS pulse so as to control the SR switch to be conductive for a ZVS time period, whereby the primary side switch achieves ZVS. The first voltage is proportional to an input voltage.
Information processing system, and method for determining authenticity of appurtenance device
Circuitry is configured to cause a memory device to perform a predetermined power consumption operation for authentication of the memory device in addition to a normal operation, and determine whether the memory device is an authorized or an unauthorized product, based on a measured current value measured in a period when the memory device performs the power consumption operation and a reference current value that is a current value in the power consumption operation by an authorized product.
Circuit protection system and method
A DC and/or an AC power transmission circuit protection system is for protection of a cabling medium. The circuit protection system includes a power supply, a powered device and a circuit protection module that includes an over-current and/or over-voltage circuit module and/or a heat circuit protector. The protection system is disposed between the power supply and the powered device, and interrupts an electrical current that flows through the cabling medium when the over-current and/or over-voltage circuit module and/or the circuit protector exceeds a predetermined level. There is also provided a method to dispose the circuit protection system and the circuit protection module within the circuit and to interrupt the circuit when over-current and/or over-voltage circuit module and/or heat circuit protector exceeds a predetermined level.

RF power amplifier performance by clipping prevention of large PAPR signals
Preventing RF signal distortion and signal error producing memory events in a Radio Frequency (RF) power amplifier (RFPA). An element, disposed prior to the Radio Frequency (RF) power amplifier (RFPA) in a signal path of a RF signal input to the RFPA, may enforce a maximum allowable amplitude in a high PAPR instantaneous high peak of the RF signal. An element may also increase or supplement a bias of the Radio Frequency (RF) power amplifier (RFPA) when a high PAPR instantaneous high peak is detected in the RF signal prior to receipt by the RFPA. Additionally, a first element operable detects when an instantaneous output voltage of the Radio Frequency (RF) power amplifier (RFPA) is below a predetermined voltage, and in response, a second element supplies additional current to prevent the output voltage of the RFPA from falling below a predetermined threshold voltage.
